Overview
The TACO Marine F16-0091 is a polished stainless steel rub rail end cap for finishing the open end of a compatible TACO rub rail installation. It caps the rail at the end of the run, helps keep the insert seated, and gives the stern or rail termination point a clean metal finish instead of leaving the profile exposed.
This end cap measures 2-7/8 inches long, 1-5/32 inches high, and 2-19/64 inches wide. It uses a #8 screw and is made from polished 316 stainless steel, a sensible choice for rub rail areas that see spray, washdowns, dock contact, and regular UV exposure.
Key features
- Polished stainless steel finish matches bright exterior trim and rub rail hardware.
- 316 stainless steel construction helps resist corrosion in saltwater and freshwater use.
- Caps the end of the rub rail so the insert stays captured instead of working loose at the termination point.
- 2-19/64 inch width supports fit checks against the rub rail profile before installation.
- Compatible with TACO V21-9502 rub rail profile.
- Sold individually, which is useful when replacing one damaged end cap or completing one end of a rail run.
- Backed by a 5-year limited warranty.
Installation and fit
Fit should be checked against the existing rub rail profile before drilling or fastening, especially on older boats where rub rail styles may have been replaced during previous repairs. The listed fit is for TACO V21-9502, and the end cap is intended to sit over the rail termination and fasten with a #8 screw.
For best results, align the insert and rail before fastening the cap so the insert is fully seated and not under tension. On boats used in saltwater, bedding the fastener area and rinsing the polished stainless after heavy spray can help keep the finish looking cleaner over time.
Use on board
This part is a good match for owners, yards, and riggers finishing a rub rail repair, replacing a missing stern end cap, or cleaning up the end of a rail run after hull work. It is a small component, but it matters because an exposed rail end can look unfinished and may allow the insert to creep out during normal docking, trailering, or washdown use.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
