Overview
The Garmin ECHOMAP Plus boat kit is a rigging kit that lets you move an ECHOMAP Plus cv or sv combo to a fixed boat install with the correct cradle, cabling, and a matched GT transducer. Depending on the configuration, it supports 6 in or 7 in displays and includes sonar coverage for Traditional CHIRP with ClearVü, or Traditional CHIRP with ClearVü and SideVü.
It is a practical fit when you are transitioning from a portable or ice-fishing setup to open water, or when you want a second mounting location so the same head unit can be swapped between boats. The tilt and swivel mount helps you set the viewing angle at the helm, and the quick-release cradle makes it easy to pull the display for trailering or storage.
Key features
- Configurations for 6 in and 7 in ECHOMAP Plus cv or sv combos, with display size and sonar type called out per variant
- Tilt and swivel mount with quick-release cradle for a clean helm install and fast removal of the display
- Power and data cable included for a dedicated boat wiring run
- cv configurations include a GT22HW-TM transducer for Traditional CHIRP and ClearVü scanning sonar
- sv configuration includes a GT52HW-TM transducer for Traditional CHIRP plus ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar
- The 6Xcv configuration includes an 8-pin transducer to 4-pin sounder adapter cable
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations to match different ECHOMAP Plus screen sizes and sonar packages.
Display size and sonar type are the key differences. The transducer model included in the kit follows the sonar type listed for each configuration.
- 020-00200-09: Display size 7 in; Sonar type ClearVü and Traditional CHIRP. This setup covers bottom and fish targets with traditional CHIRP, plus a ClearVü view that helps separate structure directly under the boat.
- 020-00200-10: Display size 7 in; Sonar type SideVü, ClearVü and Traditional CHIRP. This setup adds SideVü for scanning to the sides while keeping ClearVü for under-boat detail and traditional CHIRP for depth and target tracking.
- 020-00200-08: Display size 6 in; Sonar type ClearVü and Traditional CHIRP. This setup includes an 8-pin transducer to 4-pin sounder adapter cable, which matters when matching the included GT22HW-TM transducer to the sounder connection on the 6 in unit.
Compatibility and fit
These boat kits are intended for ECHOMAP Plus cv and sv combos in the 6 in and 7 in class, using the corresponding cradle and cabling for a fixed mount at the helm. Match your display size and the sonar type you want on the water to the variant details above.
Plan the mount location so the unit can tilt without hitting a windshield frame, throttle binnacle, or electronics box lid. Leave room behind the cradle for cable routing and a service loop, especially on tight center console panels.
Installation and setup
Mount the display cradle at the helm, route the power and data cable back to a clean 12 V distribution point, and secure the run so it cannot chafe in vibration. Use proper strain relief at the back of the unit so the connector is not carrying the load when the boat pounds.
Install the included GT transducer in a location that stays in clean water at speed, then route the transducer cable away from sharp edges and high-current wiring runs. A neat, supported cable path matters as much as the bracket placement for long-term reliability.
Use on the water
Traditional CHIRP is the everyday view for depth and fish targets, while ClearVü adds a sharper down-looking picture of bottom structure. SideVü expands that view to cover water and structure to either side, which is helpful when searching shorelines, points, and channels without driving directly over the target.
This kit is a good match for anglers who run an ECHOMAP Plus as a portable unit in the off-season and want a dedicated transducer and mount for spring through fall, or for anyone who wants a second rigging location so the same head unit can be moved between boats without redoing the wiring each time.
Maintenance and care
After saltwater use, rinse the transducer and mount area with fresh water and check that fasteners stay tight. Periodically inspect the cable route for chafe points and make sure the quick-release cradle latches cleanly before heading offshore.
