Overview
The Garmin 8-Pin Transducer Extension Cable is an 8-pin pass-through cable that adds reach between a compatible 8-pin Garmin transducer and a compatible sounder or chartplotter. It is available in 10 ft (3 m) and 30 ft (9 m) lengths for installs where the factory transducer lead does not comfortably reach the helm, electronics box, or sonar module mounting location.
This is a straightforward extension, not an adapter. It keeps the original plug connection intact so you can route the run cleanly through rigging tubes, under decks, or up a console without cutting and re-terminating a transducer cable.
Key features
- 8-pin extension for compatible Garmin transducer-to-sounder connections.
- Length options cover short console runs and longer center console, pilothouse, and aft-mount transducer layouts (10 ft or 30 ft).
- Maintains a plug-in connection instead of splicing transducer wiring.
- Useful when the transducer is mounted aft or through-hull and the display or sonar module is mounted forward.
- Made to extend an 8-pin setup only, it does not convert between 4-pin, 8-pin, or 12-pin connector types.
Variants
This cable is offered in multiple lengths to match different boat layouts and routing paths.
The length changes between versions. The connector format remains 8-pin to extend a compatible 8-pin transducer lead.
- 010-11617-50: Length 10 ft (3 m). This fits tighter runs where the transducer lead is just short once it is routed through a rigging tube or console chase.
- 010-11617-52: Length 30 ft (9 m). This supports longer routing on boats where the transducer is far from the display or where the cable needs to follow a protected path instead of the shortest line.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm you have an 8-pin Garmin transducer connector and a matching 8-pin connection at the sounder, sonar module, or chartplotter. If your system uses a different pin count, this extension will not mate correctly.
Installation and routing
Plan the route before pulling the cable. Aim for a path that avoids sharp bends, pinch points under hatches, and areas where gear gets stored or stepped on. Leave a small service loop near the display or module so the connector can be accessed later without re-pulling the run.
Support the cable along its length to prevent vibration wear, and keep the connector junction in a location that stays as dry as practical. If the connection must be in a damp space, mount it high and away from standing water and provide a drip loop so water does not track directly into the connector area.
Use on board
This extension is a good match for boats that place the transducer on the transom, jack plate, or through-hull while keeping electronics at the helm, inside a console, or in a cabin. It is also handy when you are re-routing wiring during an electronics refit and want the cable run to follow clean rigging paths instead of a direct shortcut.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
