Overview
The Garmin ECHOMAP UHD2 5-inch cv is a compact chartplotter and fishfinder combo that pairs GPS mapping with Garmin CHIRP traditional sonar and ClearVü scanning sonar on a keyed 5-inch display.
This package includes the GT20-TM transom-mount transducer, so you can get on the water with both traditional and ClearVü views without piecing together a separate sonar setup.
Built-in Wi-Fi supports ActiveCaptain features and lets compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 units share sonar, waypoints, and routes over a local wireless connection. The built-in chart package depends on the version you select, so you can match the mapping to where you actually run your boat.

Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations that change the built-in charts and maps that come with the unit.
The core experience remains a 5-inch keyed chartplotter and fishfinder combo with CHIRP traditional sonar and ClearVü scanning sonar when paired with the included GT20-TM transducer, while the mapping bundle is what separates the options below.
- 010-02590-51: Charts and maps: Garmin Navionics+ Inland. This version fits inland fishing and cruising where detailed lake and river coverage matters for route planning and finding structure.
- 010-02589-01: Charts and maps: Worldwide basemap. This version keeps the base map simple for general navigation and planning, and it leaves chart detail decisions to the charts you add for your region.
- 010-02591-51: Charts and maps: Garmin Navionics+ Coastal. This version fits nearshore use where chart detail around channels, entrances, and common coastal hazards helps when you are running in unfamiliar water.
What’s included
- ECHOMAP UHD2 5-inch cv chartplotter/fishfinder unit
- GT20-TM transducer
- Power/data cable
- Tilt mount
- Flush mount kit
- Mounting hardware
- Documentation
Installation and setup
You can mount the unit on a bracket at the helm using the included tilt mount, or set it into a dash panel using the included flush mount kit. Plan the screen location so it is easy to see from your normal driving position and so the keys are reachable when you are wearing gloves or have wet hands.
Connect the power/data cable to your boat’s DC supply on a properly protected circuit, then route the cable with a little slack and chafe protection where it passes through bulkheads. The transducer plugs into the 4-pin port, and a drip loop on both cables helps keep water from tracking toward the connectors.
Sonar and transducer use
The included GT20-TM transducer supports Garmin CHIRP traditional sonar for a familiar fish and bottom view, plus ClearVü scanning sonar for a more photo-like look at structure. Using the vivid color palettes can make it easier to pick out transitions, bait, and bottom hardness changes without staring at the screen for long stretches.
For the cleanest readings, the transom-mount transducer placement matters. A location with solid water flow at your usual running speeds and a cable route that avoids sharp bends will do more for day-to-day sonar clarity than almost any menu setting.
Mapping and wireless features
The built-in mapping depends on the version you choose, and the unit supports LakeVü g3 and BlueChart g3 style cartography along with Garmin Navionics+ and Vision+ support. That flexibility is useful if you fish different areas season to season or trailer between inland lakes and coastal water.
With built-in Wi-Fi, you can connect to the ActiveCaptain app for OneChart features, software updates, and community content such as Quickdraw Community data. On boats with more than one compatible ECHOMAP UHD2 display, wireless sharing keeps your waypoints and sonar views consistent across stations without extra network wiring.
Use cases on board
This setup makes sense for smaller helms that still need a real chartplotter and fishfinder combo, including bass boats, bay boats, skiffs, and small center consoles. It also fits projects where you want a dedicated screen for fishing and navigation without giving up much dash space.
