Overview
This Attwood Marine boat seat swivel range is made for adding or replacing the swivel point between a marine seat and its pedestal or mounting plate. The range includes 0° and 3° tilt options, zinc plated and black powder coated finishes, and a 4-way locking version for seating positions that need controlled rotation.
These swivels use a 360° ball-bearing action and a 5-1/4 in. universal mounting hole pattern, which helps them work with many common boat seat installations. They are a practical fit for helm seats, fishing seats, utility seating, and small craft layouts where the seat needs to turn for visibility, access, or easier movement around the cockpit.
Key features
- 360° ball-bearing swivel action lets the seat turn for better access to controls, gear, and surrounding water.
- 5-1/4 in. universal mounting hole pattern supports many standard boat seat and pedestal setups.
- Available in 0° and 3° tilt configurations to suit flat mounting points or seating positions that benefit from a slight angle.
- Finish options include zinc plated and black powder coated versions for common marine seating applications.
- 4-way locking option is available for installations where the seat direction needs to stay indexed while in use.
Variants
This seat swivel range is offered in three configurations. The main differences are finish, tilt angle, and whether the swivel has a locking detail or a specific plate size.
The 360° swivel function and 5-1/4 in. mounting hole pattern are consistent across the range. The installation choice should be checked against the seat base, pedestal plate, available clearance, and the seating angle needed on the boat.
- 1872: Zinc plated finish, 0° tilt, 4-way locking detail. This version suits a flat seating position where indexed locking is useful, such as a helm or fishing seat that needs to face specific directions.
- 17720: Black powder coated finish, 0° tilt, 6-1/4 in. detail. This version keeps the seat level and is a straightforward choice for many replacement or retrofit seat swivel installations.
- 17721: Black powder coated finish, 3° tilt, 7 in. detail. This version adds a slight tilt for seating layouts where the mounting angle or user position benefits from a small pitch change.
Installation and fit
Before installation, compare the 5-1/4 in. mounting hole pattern with the existing seat base and pedestal or mounting plate. Also check that the swivel has enough clearance to rotate without rubbing nearby cushions, gunwales, consoles, or storage lids.
Use fasteners that match the seat, pedestal, and mounting surface, and tighten the assembly so the swivel sits flat without distortion. On boats used in saltwater, rinsing exposed hardware and keeping the swivel area free of grit helps maintain smooth movement over time.
Use on board
These swivels are a good match for boat owners replacing a worn seat swivel, upgrading a fixed seat to rotate, or setting up a helm, casting, or cockpit seat with better access around the deck. The locking version adds extra control where the seat direction matters, while the non-locking versions keep the setup simple for everyday seating movement.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
