Overview

The Raymarine A80703 is an RVM-100 all-in-one transom mount transducer for Raymarine RealVision MAX sonar systems, including Axiom 2 Pro RVM displays and RVM-1600 sonar systems. It combines RealVision Max 3D, SideVision, DownVision, and Conical High CHIRP sonar in one transom-mounted unit, with Conical High CHIRP rated at 600 W at 200 kHz and an 8 m (26.2 ft) cable for routing back to the display or sonar module.

This transducer is a practical match for outboard-powered motor boats where a transom installation keeps the sonar element in clean water behind the hull. Built-in AHRS helps stabilize 3D sonar imagery as the boat moves through chop, turns, and changing trim, while the fast-response water temperature sensor adds useful data for fishing and general situational awareness.

The RVM-100 gives anglers and boaters one sensor for structure scanning, side-looking coverage, down-looking detail, 3D imaging, fish targeting, and temperature. Actual sonar returns depend on installation, speed, water conditions, bottom type, and depth, so careful transom placement matters.

Key features
  • All-in-one RealVision MAX transducer with RealVision Max 3D, SideVision, DownVision, and Conical High CHIRP sonar channels.
  • Conical High CHIRP output rated at 600 W at 200 kHz with a 12 degree beam width.
  • Built-in AHRS sensor helps compensate for boat motion in 3D sonar views.
  • Built-in fast-response water temperature sensor for quick temperature readings at the transducer.
  • 8 m (26.2 ft) cable gives useful routing length for transom installations on many trailerable and outboard-powered boats.
  • Stainless steel transom mounting bracket includes integrated kick-up protection for impacts with floating debris, rocks, or stumps.
  • Waterproof ratings of IPX6, IPX7, and IPX8 support use in wet marine locations, with IPX6 applying to surfaces exterior to the hull.
  • Sonar range ratings reach 365 m (1,200 ft) for CHIRP, 182 m (600 ft) for DownVision, and 91 m (300 ft) for SideVision and RealVision Max 3D.
Compatibility and fit

The RVM-100 works with Raymarine RealVision MAX compatible sonar modules and RealVision MAX equipped chartplotters. It is made for transom mounting on outboard-powered motor boats, which makes it a common fit for fishing boats, skiffs, flats boats, and other planing hulls where the transom location can stay in solid water while underway.

For hulls where a standard transom bracket is not the right fit, optional mounting accessories are available for jack plate, stepped hull, and trolling motor applications. Those accessories should be matched to the vessel before installation, especially when hull shape, engine setback, or running surface makes transom placement difficult.

Installation and setup

The supplied 8 m cable should be routed with protection from chafe, heat, sharp bends, and moving gear. The included cable connector kit, escutcheon plate, cable clips, fasteners, and bracket hardware support a clean installation when the cable path and mounting location are planned before drilling.

After mounting, the transducer position should be tested on the water and adjusted as needed for consistent bottom tracking and sonar returns. Small changes in height or angle can make a noticeable difference on transom-mounted sonar, especially on faster outboard boats where aerated water can pass across the face of the transducer.

Materials and environment

The transducer body uses plastic construction, and the supplied mounting bracket is stainless steel. The unit measures 256.6 mm (10.10 in) long by 120.5 mm (4.74 in) high and weighs 0.647 kg (1.42 lb) including the brackets.

Operating temperature range is -2°C (28.4°F) to +55°C (131°F), with storage temperature range from -20°C (23°F) to +70°C (158°F). The IPX6, IPX7, and IPX8 ratings make the unit suitable for the wet, exposed environment around a boat transom when installed correctly.

Use cases on board

This transducer suits boat owners who want Raymarine RealVision MAX sonar from a single transom-mounted sensor rather than separate elements for different sonar views. It is especially useful for anglers who use side scanning to read structure, DownVision for detail below the boat, 3D sonar for a wider picture of the bottom, and CHIRP fish targeting for returns in the water column.

It also fits boaters upgrading an Axiom 2 Pro RVM or RVM-1600 sonar setup who need a matching RealVision MAX transducer with temperature sensing and motion-stabilized 3D imaging.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
