Overview
The Lumitec Zambezi Mini Surface Mount Underwater Light is a surface-mount LED underwater light that measures about 3 in in diameter and about 1.2 in deep for smaller transoms, pontoon brackets, and skiffs. It runs on 10-30V DC and produces roughly 670-890 lumens depending on the color output. Current draw is about 0.88-0.99A at 12V, and about 0.45A at 24V.
The wiring exits from the top of the housing, so the cable can be routed up and over without drilling a through-hull wiring hole. It mounts on a three-screw pattern, which helps when you are working around ladders, trim tabs, or tight corners on a bracket.
The housing is anodized aluminum and uses an isolating spacer to help when mounting against other metals. It is built for continuous submersion in salt or fresh water in typical underwater-light placements.
Key features
- 10-30V DC input for 12V and 24V electrical systems
- About 670-890 lumens, depending on color output
- Current draw about 0.88-0.99A at 12V and about 0.45A at 24V
- Top-exit cable routing, so no through-hull wiring hole is required
- Three-screw mounting pattern with an overall size about 3 in diameter by 1.2 in deep
- Anodized aluminum housing with an isolating spacer to reduce galvanic issues at the mounting surface
- Available output choices: white, blue, RGBW, and RGBW Spectrum
- 5-year warranty
Variants
This light is offered in several output options, all using the same Zambezi Mini surface-mount footprint.
Across the range, what changes is the light color output. White output is 6500K with a CRI of 70+. RGBW options are intended for color-changing control, and the RGBW Spectrum PLI version works with the Lumitec Poco system.
- 101458: Light color RGBW. This option is used when you want adjustable color output from an RGBW controller rather than a single fixed color.
- 101457: Light color Blue. Blue output keeps the transom glow subtle and is commonly used for night cruising or dockside ambience.
- 101456: Light color White. White output is 6500K with a CRI of 70+ for clear water illumination around the stern.
- 101833: Light color RGBW Spectrum. This PLI-enabled Spectrum RGBW option integrates with Lumitec Poco for color selection, dimming, and scenes.
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting location so the face of the light has clean water flow and will not be blocked by a swim ladder, trim tab, or outboard bracket. For pontoons and docks, it is often mounted on a transducer or accessory bracket where the light can sit just below the waterline.
Bed the light to the mounting surface with a marine sealant and use corrosion-resistant fasteners. Route the cable from the top exit into a protected path with chafe protection and a drip loop before it enters any electrical space.
Electrical and control notes
Power it from a switched DC circuit that is fused appropriately for the run and the load. At 12V the draw is under 1A, and at 24V it is about 0.45A, so voltage drop is usually manageable on smaller boats when the wiring is sized correctly for the length.
Single-color versions operate from a simple on/off switch. RGBW and RGBW Spectrum versions require a compatible color controller, and the PLI-enabled Spectrum model is the one that ties into Lumitec Poco modules.
Compatibility and fit
The compact body (about 3 in diameter by 1.2 in deep) helps when you have limited flat area on the transom. If installing multiple lights, keep them at the same depth and spaced evenly so the glow looks balanced from behind the boat.
Use on board
Underwater lighting is most noticeable at the dock, at anchor, and while swimming off the stern. The Mini format is a good match for trailer boats, small pontoons, and skiffs that want a surface-mount installation and modest current draw.
Maintenance and care
Rinse the exterior after saltwater use and wipe the lens clean with mild soap and water. Check fasteners and the sealant line periodically, especially after trailering or hard washdowns.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
