Overview
The Lumitec Illusion Down Light is a low-profile downlight for boats running 10-30V DC, with a 2.5 in face and a shallow 0.7 in mounting depth.
It sits nearly flush with a bezel-free glass face, so it looks clean in cabin ceilings, hardtops, and overhead panels. The housing is IP67 rated for areas that see spray or routine washdowns.
Wiring is a simple two-wire hookup, and it integrates with Lumitec control options for dimming, color control, and scene features when used with compatible modules.
Key features
- 10-30V DC input for 12V and 24V systems
- Shallow housing (0.7 in depth) and 2.5 in overall diameter for tight overhead spaces
- Bezel-free, chemically hardened glass face with no exposed fasteners
- Butterfly clip mounting for quick installs in hardtops and headliners
- IP67 rating for dust-tight sealing and resistance to water intrusion during washdowns
- Two-wire hookup with Lumitec PLI support and Timed Toggle Protocol (TTP) control options
- Sound-to-Light synchronization available when paired with a compatible Lumitec Poco 4 module
Variants
This downlight is offered with different light color outputs, lens styles, and face finishes so the look and the lighting effect match the space.
Light color options include White, Warm White, and Spectrum RGBW with a Warm White or Cool White white channel. Lens Type is either Standard or Chrome Reflector, and Finish is White, Mirrored, or Black. The 10-30V input and low-profile form factor remain the same across the range.
Installation and setup
Installation is from the front of the panel using butterfly clips, keeping the face clean with no visible screws. Plan the cutout and cable routing before finishing headliners or hardtops, and leave clearance behind the mounting surface for the 0.7 in housing and the wiring bend radius.
In high-vibration areas, use tinned marine wire and sealed connectors, and secure the harness so its weight is not carried by the light leads.
Electrical and system integration
Connect to a 10-30V DC lighting circuit and protect the run with an appropriately sized fuse for the wire gauge and length. This fixture is not intended to be dimmed with generic third-party dimmers; use Lumitec control methods such as Poco digital lighting control and TTP switching where supported by the chosen light output.
Spectrum RGBW versions are a good match for boats already using Lumitec digital lighting control, where color selection, dimming, and scene presets can be handled from compatible controls.
Use cases on board
The shallow depth works well in overheads with limited space behind the liner, including cabins, heads, helm hardtops, and cockpit overhangs. Finish options help the light blend with trim and headliner color, and chrome reflector versions add a reflective inner surface around the aperture.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt residue after heavy spray and wipe the glass face with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners on mirrored faces and finished surfaces to keep the appearance even.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
