Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VEU479S is a premium electronic chart for Portugal, covering the Atlantic coast from Vigo, Spain down past Cabo de Sao Vicente to Ayamonte. It is built for use on compatible Garmin chartplotters and brings extra chart presentation tools such as Depth Range Shading (up to 10 ranges) and detailed 1-foot contours for a clearer read of bottom shape when you are planning a route or setting up a drift.
This chart area includes major stops and approaches along the Portuguese coast, including Viana do Castelo, Porto, Aveiro, Figueira da Foz, Nazare, Peniche, Lisbon, Sesimbra, Sines, Ponta de Sagres, Lagos, Portimao, Vilamoura and Faro. Auto Guidance can calculate a suggested path using your depth and overhead clearance settings on supported plotters, but it should always be treated as guidance and verified against local conditions.
Key features
- Portugal coastal coverage from Vigo, Spain to Ayamonte, including Cabo de Sao Vicente
- Integrated chart content that combines Garmin and Navionics data for detailed coastal navigation
- Depth Range Shading with up to 10 depth ranges to help you highlight the band of water you care about
- 1-foot contour detail for a tighter view of bottom structure and contour changes
- Shallow Water Shading to mark a user-set depth threshold on supported chartplotters
- MarinerEye and FishEye 3D chart views available on supported chartplotters
- High-resolution satellite imagery overlay and aerial photography available in supported areas and on supported chartplotters
Variants
This chart is offered in two formats, depending on how you want to load it to your system.
The chart coverage and feature set remain the same across the range. The difference is the delivery method: a preloaded card for direct use in the plotter, or a download that is installed to an SD card through Garmin Express.
- 010-C0823-00: Format microSD/SD. This is a preprogrammed card that you insert into a compatible chartplotter card slot when you are ready to navigate.
- 010-D0416-00: Format Download. This format is delivered electronically and is written to a compatible SD card using Garmin Express on a computer before it is used in the chartplotter.
Compatibility and fit
This chart is intended for compatible Garmin chartplotters that support BlueChart g3 Vision content. Feature support can vary by display model, so functions like Auto Guidance, 3D views, imagery overlays, and certain shading tools may only appear on specific units.
Installation and setup
For the microSD/SD card format, insert the card into the chartplotter card slot and select the chart layer on the plotter. For the download format, use Garmin Express to load the chart to an SD card, then insert that card into the chartplotter. Once installed, set your shading and contour preferences to match how you navigate the area, especially when working close to shore or entering unfamiliar harbors.
Use on board
This chart is a strong fit for skippers cruising, fishing, or making offshore runs along the Portuguese coast who want a tighter view of depth changes and port approaches. The combination of 1-foot contours, depth range shading, and optional 3D and imagery views helps when you are planning safe water routes and approaching marinas where local detail matters.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
