Overview
The Jabsco In-Line Non-Return Valve is an in-line check valve for marine bilge pump suction lines, used to help a pump prime and to stop water from running back into the bilge when the pump cycles off. The range covers 3/4 in (19 mm), 1 in (25 mm), and 1-1/2 in (38 mm) ID hose, matching common bilge and pump hose setups on small boats, cruisers, fishing boats, and refit projects.
Each valve fits directly into the pump suction hose, which keeps the installation straightforward when replacing a worn valve or adding backflow control to an existing bilge system. The construction uses corrosion-resistant materials throughout, with a plastic body and a nitrile rubber valve for wet bilge environments where standing water, salt residue, and vibration are part of normal service.
Key features
- Fits into a pump suction hose to help priming and reduce water draining back into the bilge.
- Available for 3/4 in (19 mm), 1 in (25 mm), and 1-1/2 in (38 mm) ID hose connections.
- Corrosion-resistant materials throughout for use in damp bilge spaces and marine plumbing runs.
- Plastic construction with a nitrile rubber valve for a simple non-return function in bilge pump systems.
- Adjustable port configuration helps the hose angle sit more naturally during installation.
Variants
This product is offered in three hose-size configurations for different bilge pump suction lines.
The hose connection size changes between variants. The in-line non-return function, suction-line placement, corrosion-resistant construction, plastic body, nitrile rubber valve, and adjustable port configuration remain consistent across the range.
- 29295-1011: Hose size 3/4 in (19 mm) ID hose. This size suits smaller bilge hose runs where the pump and plumbing use 19 mm hose.
- 29295-1000: Hose size 1 in (25 mm) ID hose. This size matches 25 mm bilge hose installations and is a common fit for mid-size pump plumbing.
- 29295-1010: Hose size 1-1/2 in (38 mm) ID hose. This size is for higher-capacity bilge hose layouts that use 38 mm suction hose.
Installation and fit
Install the valve in the suction line where it can sit in line with the hose and remain accessible for inspection. Match the variant to the inside diameter of the existing hose, not the outside diameter, and use hose clamps that are suitable for the hose and bilge environment.
Because the port angle can be adjusted, the valve is useful in tight bilge compartments where hose routing may need to clear pumps, stringers, tanks, or other plumbing. A smooth hose run with fewer hard bends helps the pump maintain better suction.
Use cases on board
This valve is a practical match for boats where bilge water can drain back toward the pickup or where the pump needs help holding prime between cycles. It is especially relevant for maintenance work on manual or electric bilge pump suction lines, replacement plumbing, and refits where the hose size is already known.
Maintenance and care
During bilge inspections, check that the valve and hose clamps are secure and that debris has not collected around the suction side of the system. If the bilge has been exposed to oil, heavy dirt, or loose debris, inspect the valve as part of the pump service routine so the non-return function stays dependable.
