Overview
The Garmin 010-11874-00 is a rechargeable NiMH battery pack for select Garmin handheld GPS units, letting you run a dedicated pack instead of two AA batteries.
On a boat, a handheld often ends up as the grab-and-go backup at the helm, the tender navigator, or the unit that lives in a ditch bag. This pack keeps that handheld ready and cuts down on last-minute battery swaps. It recharges while the compatible handheld is connected to USB power or an AC adapter, so topping up from a 12 V USB outlet or a power bank is straightforward.
Key features
- Replaces two AA batteries in compatible Garmin handhelds for a cleaner, all-in-one rechargeable setup.
- Charges inside compatible devices while the handheld is connected to an AC adapter or a USB power source.
- Works with GPSMAP 64 family handhelds (including 64, 64s, 64st and 64x variants) and Oregon 600 family handhelds (600, 600t, 650, 650t).
- Also listed for GPSMAP 65 series, GPSMAP 66s and 66st, Oregon 700 series (700, 750, 750t), and Astro 430 and Astro 900 handhelds.
- Helps keep a cockpit or on-deck handheld topped up between runs without managing loose AA cells.
- Intended to be charged by the compatible handheld, not by external standalone chargers.
Compatibility and fit
This pack is made to fit the battery compartment used by Garmin handhelds that accept the optional NiMH pack. Common matches include GPSMAP 64, 64s, 64st, 64sx and 64x models, plus Oregon 600, 600t, 650 and 650t. It is also listed for GPSMAP 65 and 65s, GPSMAP 66s and 66st, Oregon 700, 750 and 750t, and Astro 430 and Astro 900 handhelds.
Confirm your exact handheld model before ordering. Garmin handheld families that look similar can use different battery bays, and this pack is not meant as a universal fit for older GPSMAP or Oregon generations.
Charging and power on board
Charging happens through the handheld. Connect the device to USB power or an AC adapter and the pack charges while installed. On some setups you may need to remove a mount or accessory to access the handheld’s USB port.
Charging can pause if the handheld is outside its approved charging temperature range. If the unit has been sitting in direct sun in the cockpit or stored in a cold locker, letting it return to a normal temperature can restore charging behavior.
Who it suits
This pack makes sense if you keep a Garmin handheld ready for backup navigation, anchorage checks from the bow, dinghy runs, or shore-side exploring on cruising days. It also fits anglers who run a handheld for long stretches and prefer recharging between trips over replacing AA batteries.
Care and storage
For longer storage periods, remove the pack from the handheld and keep it in a dry place. Keep the battery compartment clean and avoid salt spray and moisture around the contacts so the pack seats fully and the door closes properly.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
