Overview
The Garmin BlueChart g3 Vision HD VEU486S is an electronic chart for the Galicia and Asturias coast, covering from Cabo Ajo (Spain) to Praia da Aguda (Portugal), including ports and coastal areas such as Suances, Ribadesella, Gijon, Aviles, La Coruna, Finisterre, Vigo and Porto.
It is built for Garmin chartplotters and compatible Garmin marine devices that support BlueChart g3 Vision mapping. You get detailed coastal cartography plus premium viewing tools like depth range shading (up to 10 ranges), shallow water shading and high-detail bottom contours down to 1 foot, where supported by your device.
This chart also adds planning and situational awareness features such as Auto Guidance, plus 3D perspectives and imagery layers in areas where they are available on your unit.
Key features
- Regional coverage for Galicia and Asturias (VEU486S), spanning Cabo Ajo, Spain to Praia da Aguda, Portugal, with many harbors and port plans in between.
- Integrated Garmin and Navionics content for coastal navigation detail.
- Depth Range Shading with up to 10 depth ranges to help highlight the depths you care about.
- Shallow Water Shading that can be set to a user-defined depth for quick visual risk checks when running inshore.
- Bottom contours down to 1 foot for a clearer read on structure, channels and shelf edges.
- Auto Guidance calculates a suggested route using your chosen depth and overhead clearance parameters (feature availability varies by device).
- 3D viewing modes (such as MarinerEye and FishEye) plus imagery layers like satellite overlays and aerial photos where supported.
Variants
This chart is offered in two formats so you can match how you load charts on your Garmin system.
The chart region (VEU486S) is the same across formats. On-screen features and 3D or imagery layers depend on the Garmin device that is reading the chart and what it supports.
- 010-C0830-00: Format microSD/SD. A physical chart card that stays in your chartplotter while you are using this region.
- 010-D0421-00: Format Download. A digital delivery option that is installed using Garmin Express, useful when you prefer not to handle a physical card.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm your chartplotter supports BlueChart g3 Vision cartography before ordering. Feature support can differ between models, so the chart may display basic navigation detail on one unit while showing additional layers such as Auto Guidance, depth shading, 3D views or imagery on another.
If your boat has more than one display, verify how your Garmin setup shares charts across the network. Many installations require the chart media or installed map data to be available to the display that is doing the chart drawing.
Installation and setup
For the microSD/SD version, insert the card into the chart slot on the compatible Garmin unit and let it index after power-up. Keep the card inserted when navigating with this region.
For the download version, installation is handled through Garmin Express. Plan on having access to a computer and the Garmin device or supported storage method required by your chartplotter.
Use on board
This region is a practical match for coastal cruising, fishing and port hopping along northwest Spain and the north Portugal coastline. The contour detail and shading tools are especially helpful when you are lining up entrances, working along rocky shorelines or following depth breaks.
Auto Guidance is a planning aid, not a substitute for proper watchkeeping and local knowledge. Always verify any suggested route against real conditions, official notices and what you can see on the water.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
