Overview
The Garmin Extension Cable with XID, 12-Pin is a transducer extension cable that adds extra reach between a compatible 12-pin transducer and your sonar display when the original lead does not quite make it to the helm or electronics location. It is offered in multiple lengths, including 4.3 ft, 10 ft, and 30 ft options.
This cable is meant for installations where you want a clean run without cutting or splicing the transducer lead. It supports 12-pin Airmar transducers that use XID.
It is a good match for boats with longer cable routes through rigging tubes, under decks, or up a center console, especially when you want enough slack for service loops and future electronics access.
Key features
- 12-pin extension cable for compatible transducer connections
- Supports transducers with XID
- Available lengths cover short jumps inside a console up to long runs to the helm
- Adds cable length without splicing the transducer lead
- Helps keep connector placement accessible for troubleshooting and seasonal electronics service
Variants
This product is offered in multiple length options to match different boat layouts and cable routes.
The length changes between variants. Connector style remains 12-pin, and XID support applies where the connected transducer uses XID.
- 010-11617-44: Length 4.3 ft. Useful when you only need a small amount of extra reach inside a console or to relieve strain at the display connection.
- 010-11617-32: Length 10 ft. A practical middle length for routing through a T-top leg, a short rigging tube, or from the transom to a nearby electronics bay.
- 010-11617-42: Length 30 ft. Suited to longer helm runs on larger center consoles and pilothouse layouts where the transducer cable needs to travel forward with the main harness.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm both ends of your setup use the 12-pin transducer connection before ordering. This extension is intended for 12-pin transducer applications, including 12-pin Airmar transducers with XID.
Measure the full routing path on the boat, not the straight-line distance, and plan a little extra for drip loops, service slack behind the display, and any future re-terminations or equipment moves.
Installation and setup
Route the cable where it is protected from chafe and where it will not be stepped on, pinched by hatches, or pulled tight under vibration. Support the run so it cannot swing against sharp edges, and keep the connection point in a spot you can reach later without pulling the helm apart.
Avoid bundling it tightly alongside high-current wiring for long distances when you have other routing choices. If the cable must cross power runs, crossing at an angle helps reduce the chance of interference.
Maintenance and care
After installation, periodically inspect the run for abrasion points and check that the connection has not loosened over time. In saltwater environments, a quick rinse and wipe-down around exposed cable sections helps keep buildup from collecting where the cable passes through clamps and glands.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
