Overview
The Garmin OnDeck Shore Power Sensor is a shore-power status sensor that works with an OnDeck Hub so you can monitor whether dock power is present when your boat is plugged in. In the AC power plug configuration, it supports standard electrical outlets from 100 Vac to 240 Vac.
It is built for the real-world dockside problem of shore power dropping out without anyone noticing. When shore power goes away, battery chargers stop charging and dockside loads can shut down, so having clear status in your OnDeck system helps you decide what needs attention when you are away from the boat.
Key features
- Works with an OnDeck Hub to monitor shore power status remotely.
- Two configurations for different installs: an AC power plug style or a hard-wired style.
- AC power plug configuration supports standard electrical outlets from 100 Vac to 240 Vac.
- Useful for dockside boats where shore power supports onboard charging and other AC-dependent loads.
- Lets you confirm shore power presence without relying on a quick glance at the pedestal or panel.
Variants
This product is offered in multiple configurations to match how your vessel brings shore power onboard.
The configuration is what changes between variants, including whether the sensor connects through an AC outlet or is wired directly into the AC supply.
- 010-13009-00: Configuration: AC Power Plug. Connects through an electrical outlet, which keeps the install simple when you have a suitable receptacle tied to the boat’s shore power connection.
- 010-13009-08: Configuration: Hard-wired. Connects directly into the AC supply, which suits installs where there is no appropriate outlet or where the sensor needs to live inside the electrical space.
Compatibility and fit
This sensor is meant to be used as part of a Garmin OnDeck system and requires an OnDeck Hub to report shore power status. It is a fit for boats that routinely connect to dockside shore power and want visibility into whether that connection still has power.
For the plug-in configuration, the outlet used should be one that goes dead when shore power is lost so the status reflects the dock connection. For the hard-wired configuration, placement is typically within the AC electrical area where the shore power feed is accessible.
Installation and setup
Plan for a mounting spot that stays dry and has some airflow, away from heat sources and areas that regularly see spray or washdowns. Secure wiring so it cannot chafe under vibration, and keep cable runs tidy so service access to panels is still practical.
Any work that involves the boat’s AC supply should be done with shore power disconnected and by someone familiar with marine AC systems. After installation, confirm operation by checking the OnDeck system status with shore power present, then again after removing shore power to make sure the change is detected as expected.
Use cases on board
This is a good match for boaters who leave the vessel at the dock and want to keep tabs on shore power status between visits. It also suits boats that run chargers, refrigeration, or humidity control while unattended and want a quick way to verify the dock connection has not dropped out.
Maintenance and care
Keep the sensor and its connections clean and dry, and periodically inspect wiring for loosening, corrosion, or chafe. If the sensor is installed in a compartment that can get damp, routine checks are especially helpful after heavy rain, washdowns, or long periods at the dock.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
