Overview
The Jabsco Par-Max HD6 is a freshwater delivery pump for on-demand marine water pressure systems, available in 12 VDC and 24 VDC versions with 40 PSI or 60 PSI pressure switch cut-off options. It delivers up to 6 GPM (22.7 LPM) open flow and uses a 5 chamber diaphragm pump design with quick connect ports.
This pump is made for pressurized freshwater service on board, such as supplying sinks, showers, galleys, and other fixtures from a tank-fed system. The integrated sealed pressure switch turns the pump on when the system calls for water and shuts it off when the selected cut-off pressure is reached.
Marine installation details are well covered: the pump has an internal bypass to reduce cycling, self-primes up to 7 ft (2.1 m) dry prime, and carries an IPX6 rating with ISO 8846 ignition protection. It is a practical fit for boats that need stronger freshwater flow without moving to a larger pump platform.
Key features
- 6 GPM (22.7 LPM) open flow rate for freshwater pressure systems with several outlets.
- Integrated sealed pressure switch starts and stops the pump automatically as faucets or fixtures open and close.
- Internal bypass helps smooth flow and reduce rapid switch cycling during normal freshwater use.
- Self-priming up to 7 ft (2.1 m) dry prime, with run-dry capability for added tolerance during startup and tank changes.
- Quick connect ports with two 3/4 in. (19 mm) straight hosebarb fittings for hose connection and service access.
- IPX6 rating, ISO 8846 ignition protection, CE and RCM compliance for marine installation environments.
- Fiber reinforced polypropylene upper housing, cast aluminum lower housing, stainless steel pump head fasteners, EPDM valves and seals, and Santoprene diaphragm in the wetted path.
- 12 in. (305 mm) 14 AWG stripped wire leads for connection to a protected DC circuit.
Variants
The Par-Max HD6 range is offered in four configurations. The pump platform and 6 GPM open-flow rating stay consistent, while the electrical system voltage and pressure switch cut-off change by variant.
The 12 VDC models fit common DC freshwater systems on many boats, while the 24 VDC models match vessels using 24 V service. The 40 PSI versions use a lower pressure switch cut-off, and the 60 PSI versions use a higher cut-off within the same HD6 family.
- P601J-215S-3A: 12 VDC with 40 PSI (2.8 BAR) pressure switch cut-off. This version matches a 12 V freshwater system where the lower HD6 pressure setting is preferred.
- P601J-218S-3A: 12 VDC with 60 PSI (4.1 BAR) pressure switch cut-off. This version keeps the 12 V electrical format and uses the higher HD6 pressure setting.
- P602J-215S-3A: 24 VDC with 40 PSI (2.8 BAR) pressure switch cut-off. This version fits a 24 V freshwater system and uses the lower HD6 pressure setting.
- P602J-218S-3A: 24 VDC with 60 PSI (4.1 BAR) pressure switch cut-off. This version pairs 24 V electrical service with the higher HD6 pressure setting.
Installation and setup
Install the pump on a solid mounting surface in a dry area with ventilation, leaving enough room for the port clips, hoses, and wiring to bend without strain. The baseplate uses rubber feet to help reduce vibration transfer into the mounting surface.
A strainer should be placed before the pump inlet so incoming water is filtered before it reaches the check valves and pressure switch. This is especially important on boats where tank debris, scale, or service residue can move through the freshwater plumbing after maintenance.
Electrical and system integration
The 12 VDC versions operate across a 9 VDC to 13.6 VDC range and use a 25 amp fuse, which is not included. The 40 PSI 12 VDC version draws up to 15 amps at cut-off pressure, while the 60 PSI 12 VDC version draws up to 18 amps at cut-off pressure.
The 24 VDC versions operate across an 18 VDC to 27.2 VDC range and use a 15 amp fuse, which is not included. The 40 PSI 24 VDC version draws up to 7 amps at cut-off pressure, while the 60 PSI 24 VDC version draws up to 8 amps at cut-off pressure.
Materials and marine environment
The wetted-side construction uses fiber reinforced polypropylene, polypropylene, Santoprene, and EPDM components, with stainless steel pump head fasteners. The motor casing combines cast aluminum and coated steel, and the lower housing is cast aluminum.
The IPX6 rating is useful around marine service areas where spray and washdown exposure can happen, but the pump should still be installed where it is protected from standing water and unnecessary bilge moisture.
Use cases on board
This pump is a good match for cruising boats, fishing boats, and larger freshwater layouts that need on-demand pressure at multiple fixtures. A common sizing guide for freshwater delivery is about 1 GPM per outlet, so the 6 GPM rating gives useful capacity for systems serving several outlets.
It can support freshwater supply to galleys, showers, wash stations, and other tank-fed fixtures where steady pressure and automatic operation matter more than a simple transfer pump.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
