Overview

The Garmin Force is a bow-mount trolling motor for freshwater boats that runs on 24 V or 36 V and is rated up to 80 lb of thrust at 24 V or 100 lb at 36 V. It combines GPS-based steering, built-in autopilot modes, and an integrated sonar transducer so you can hold position, maintain a heading, or work along a track while watching what is under the bow.

Control can stay up front with the wireless foot pedal for quick corrections, and the handheld remote adds point-and-go gesture steering with a sunlight-readable, transflective display that stays usable in open cockpits. When linked wirelessly to a compatible Garmin chartplotter, motor control and route guidance can be managed from the screen, with sonar available from the built-in transducer.

This setup is a solid match for anglers running bass boats and multi-species rigs who want hands-on bow control plus GPS holding for wind, current, and spot-to-spot moves on lakes and rivers.

Key features
  • 24 V or 36 V operation, rated up to 80 lb thrust at 24 V or 100 lb at 36 V
  • Built-in autopilot functions including anchor lock, heading hold, and cruise control using integrated GPS and heading sensor
  • Integrated sonar transducer supporting CHIRP traditional plus Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü scanning sonar
  • Wireless foot pedal that reacts quickly and steers with a cable-steer style feel
  • Handheld remote with sunlight-readable, transflective display and point-and-go gesture steering, plus a floating design
  • Wireless integration with compatible Garmin chartplotters for on-screen control and route guidance
  • Brushless motor that runs quietly and helps stretch battery time during long days on the bow
Variants

This trolling motor is offered in multiple configurations to match different bow heights and mounting setups.

The variants listed here differ by length. A longer shaft helps keep the lower unit and transducer in clean water when the bow rides higher or the lake gets choppy, while a shorter shaft can suit lower freeboard and tighter stow clearance.

  • 010-02025-00: Length 57 in. This length helps maintain prop and transducer submersion when the bow lifts in chop or when fishing heavier boats.
  • 010-02024-00: Length 50 in. This length can be a cleaner fit on lower-profile bows and can reduce stow clearance issues around rails, cleats, and trailers.

Compatibility and fit

Force is a bow-mount motor, so deck space and the stow path are part of the fit check. Confirm the mount can swing and latch without contacting the rub rail, bow light, or railings, and that the head and pull cable have room to move through the full steering range. Shaft length is the main sizing decision, and it should reflect how high your bow sits above the waterline and how much clearance you have when the motor is stowed and strapped down for transport.

Electrical and system integration

The motor is built for 24 V or 36 V battery systems. Plan for high-current wiring with marine-grade cable, secure battery connections, and circuit protection appropriate for a trolling motor circuit. The built-in transducer outputs CHIRP traditional sonar plus Ultra High-Definition ClearVü and SideVü scanning, and those sonar views require a compatible sonar-capable display to see returns at the helm.

Installation and setup

Dry-fit the bracket on the bow first to confirm swing clearance and stow orientation, then through-bolt into a solid backing surface. Route power leads so they cannot chafe during deploy and stow cycles, and keep wiring clear of the steering head and hinge points. After mounting, pair the foot pedal and remote, then test steering response, anchor lock behavior, and prop direction at the dock before heading out.

Maintenance and care

After each day on the water, rinse and wipe down around the mount pivots and prop area and clear any fishing line that could work into moving parts. Recheck mounting fasteners and cable routing periodically, especially after trailering on rough roads, and store the remote and pedal where they will not get crushed or stepped on in transit.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
