Overview
The Simrad 000-15686-001 is a pole mount kit for the HS75 GNSS compass that lets you install the sensor on a standard 1 inch pole with 14 TPI threads instead of a flat surface.
The mount gives you a clean cable path for the HS75 NMEA 2000 drop, either routed down a hollow pole or out through the opening in the bracket. Once the sensor is aligned to the vessel centerline, the jam nut locks the position so it stays put underway.
For proper fit and to avoid thread damage, do not tighten the pole mount beyond 5.4 Nm. When fastening the bracket to the HS75, tighten the mounting hardware to 11 to 13 Nm and keep thread engagement to 12 mm (0.50 in) maximum.
Key features
- Purpose-built for Simrad HS75 GNSS compass pole-mount installations
- Standard 1 inch 14 TPI pole threads match common marine antenna poles
- Drop cable routing through a hollow pole or through the bracket opening for a protected run
- Specified torque guidance: 5.4 Nm maximum on the pole mount, 11 to 13 Nm for HS75 mounting hardware
- Maximum thread depth engagement of 12 mm (0.50 in) when fastening to the HS75
Installation and setup
Mount the pole where the HS75 has a clear view of the sky and where other antennas and metal structures are less likely to block satellites. A dedicated sensor pole on an aft rail or hardtop is a common approach on cruisers, fishing boats, and center consoles.
Dry-fit the bracket and sensor first so you can confirm the forward orientation and cable exit direction. After the HS75 is secured to the bracket, tighten the jam nut against the mount to prevent rotation from vibration and repeated shock loads.
Route the NMEA 2000 drop cable with strain relief and a drip loop at the entry point, and protect any exposed section from chafe where it passes through metal tubing or deck glands.
Compatibility and fit
This kit is intended specifically for the HS75 and a 1 inch 14 TPI pole. If your boat uses a different pole size or thread standard, confirm the pole specification before ordering.
The bracket is meant to work with a typical NMEA 2000 backbone layout where the HS75 connects by drop cable. Plan the connector path ahead of time if you want the cable hidden inside the pole.
System notes for HS75 installations
The HS75 connects to an NMEA 2000 network and operates on 6 to 36 VDC supplied through the backbone. If you are adding the compass to an existing system, confirm proper backbone power and termination before running the drop up the pole.
Maintain at least 50 cm (19.7 in) separation from a magnetic compass and give the sensor a mounting location that stays consistent relative to the hull. The HS75 housing is rated IPX7, which suits exposed mounting when connectors are secured and supported.
Maintenance and care
After the first few outings, recheck the jam nut and mounting fasteners, especially on boats that see hard slamming. Inspect the cable exit point for chafe and address any wear before it reaches the insulation.
Rinse salt residue off the mount during routine washdowns and keep the pole threads clean so the assembly can be serviced later without binding.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch

International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
