Overview
The Blue Sea Systems AC Isolation Cover is an insulating back cover for Blue Sea Systems toggle-style circuit breaker panels where the rear of the panel needs to be shielded inside a locker, cabinet, or electrical compartment. It helps separate exposed AC panel backs from surrounding DC wiring and gear, which is especially important on boats where space behind panels is tight and service access is shared with other equipment.
This cover adds electrical insulation and mechanical protection for panel backs that protrude into storage or utility spaces. The cover material can be drilled for wire entry and exit, so installers can route conductors cleanly without leaving the panel back exposed. It is also listed for use where combined AC and DC panels must meet ABYC requirements.
Key features
- Insulates exposed backs of compatible AC toggle circuit breaker panels.
- Adds a protective barrier when the rear of the panel extends into lockers or other accessible spaces.
- Helps isolate AC components and circuits from nearby DC system elements.
- Cover material can be drilled for wire entrance and exit during installation.
- Meets ABYC requirements for panels that combine AC and DC circuits.
- For Blue Sea Systems toggle-style circuit breaker panels only.
Variants
This AC Isolation Cover is offered in two cover sizes for different toggle circuit breaker panel layouts.
The variants differ by position count and panel column layout. Both versions serve the same purpose: insulating and protecting the back side of compatible Blue Sea Systems toggle-style panels.
- 4031: Cover Size 10 Position. This version is the 10-position, 2-column cover and has a listed weight of 0.38 lb, or 0.17 kg.
- 4029: Cover Size 8 Position. This version is the 8-position, 1-column cover and has a listed weight of 0.24 lb, or 0.11 kg.
Compatibility and fit
This cover is made for Blue Sea Systems toggle-style circuit breaker panels only. It is not a universal enclosure for any marine breaker panel, so matching the cover size to the panel layout matters before installation. The 8-position version suits a 1-column layout, while the 10-position version suits a 2-column layout.
It is a practical fit for boats where AC and DC distribution share the same panel area, including cruising sailboats, sport-fishing boats, and powerboats with electrical panels mounted near lockers, cabins, or service compartments. The main benefit is not cosmetic; it helps protect wiring, panel hardware, and anyone reaching into the space behind the panel.
Installation and setup
Plan wire routing before mounting the cover so the drilled entry and exit points line up with the panel conductors. Keep the cover clear of strain points, sharp bends, and moving gear inside the compartment. After installation, the panel back should remain accessible for service while still keeping exposed AC components separated from nearby equipment and stored items.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
