Overview

The Garmin 010-11119-00 is a replacement anemometer wind cup assembly for the Garmin GWS 10 wind sensor. It restores proper wind speed pickup when the original cups are worn, damaged, or no longer spinning freely after years of UV, salt spray, and vibration at the masthead.

This is the rotating cup component only, so it addresses the mechanical side of wind speed measurement without changing any wiring or network connections on the boat. Once installed, wind speed data continues to be sent through the existing GWS 10 sensor to your connected display or chartplotter.

Key features
  • Direct-fit replacement wind cups for Garmin GWS 10 wind sensors
  • Restores wind speed readings when the original cups are cracked, missing, or binding
  • Mechanical replacement part that does not require changes to cabling, power, or network hardware
  • Compact masthead component that keeps the wind sensor profile unchanged
Compatibility and fit

Fit is specific to the Garmin GWS 10 wind sensor. If your current masthead unit is a GWS 10, this replacement matches the wind cup assembly used for wind speed measurement.

Installation and setup

Plan to do this work with the wind sensor safely down on deck rather than aloft. The wind cup assembly mates to the anemometer shaft in a keyed orientation, then presses into place until it is fully seated.

After installation, spin the cups by hand to confirm smooth, free rotation. Once the sensor is back on the mast, verify that wind speed readings look reasonable at the dock and under way.

Use on board

Accurate wind speed is a practical tool for sail trim, autopilot behavior under sail, and keeping an eye on changing conditions during coastal runs or offshore passages. This replacement makes the most sense for boats already relying on a GWS 10 for wind data and looking to bring the masthead sensor back to normal function without replacing the full transducer.

Maintenance and care

Rinse the cups with fresh water after heavy salt exposure and check them periodically for cracks, stiffness, or wobble. Keeping the rotating parts clean and freely spinning helps maintain consistent wind speed readings season after season.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
