Installation and setup

The breaker rating should protect the wire, not just match the device on the circuit. On motor loads such as windlasses and thrusters, start-up current can be much higher than running current, so breaker sizing should be checked against the equipment manual, cable ampacity, voltage drop, and the applicable marine electrical standard for the vessel.

Compatibility and fit

This is a C-Series, single-pole toggle breaker, so it is a good match for panels built around that breaker format. It is not a drop-in substitute for every marine breaker style, and it should be compared against the existing panel opening, rear clearance, terminal layout, amperage rating, and voltage rating before replacing an older breaker.
