Overview
The Garmin 010-12527-00 is a power and audio module that supplies power and a data link to compatible GXM 53 and GXM 54 receivers and breaks out stereo audio for a marine stereo. It acts as the interface between your boat’s DC system, the Garmin Marine Network, and the stereo input so the receiver can deliver weather and SiriusXM audio into the helm system.
It runs from 9 to 32 VDC and is protected by a 2 A fast-acting mini-blade fuse on the power feed. The audio lead is line-level and is meant to go to a stereo line-in or AUX input, not directly to speakers.
Key features
- Single module that handles power, network data, and audio breakout for GXM 53 and GXM 54 installations
- 9 to 32 VDC input range with a 2 A fast-acting mini-blade fuse on the supply side
- Garmin Marine Network connection for sharing receiver data with compatible Garmin displays on the network
- Line-level stereo audio output intended for a head unit line-in or AUX input
- Audio can be extended using a standard RCA cable when longer runs are needed, with connections kept in a protected area
- Also listed as compatible with the Garmin GC 200 Marine IP Camera
Compatibility and fit
This module is used with Garmin GXM 53 and GXM 54 satellite weather and radio receivers and a compatible Garmin Marine Network device at the helm. Plan on having a free Garmin Marine Network port available, either directly on a display or through a network expansion device, and a stereo that offers a line-in or auxiliary input for the audio feed.
Installation and setup
Mount the module where it stays accessible for service, close to your DC distribution and near the Garmin Marine Network backbone area you are tying into. Keep connectors supported so they are not hanging on the cable, and route all runs away from ignition components, high-current wiring, and other common sources of interference at the helm.
Electrical and system integration
Feed the module from a switched circuit or through an in-line switch so the receiver is not left powered when the boat is unattended. Verify the fuse is present and accessible, and keep all DC connections clean, tight, and above areas that see bilge water or routine washdowns.
Audio integration
Connect the audio lead to the stereo’s line-in or AUX input and confirm the stereo input is configured for that source. If you need to extend the audio run, use a standard RCA extension and make any extension connection in a dry, protected location so it is not exposed to water.
Use cases on board
This module is a good fit for boats that want SiriusXM audio through the cabin or cockpit stereo while also feeding satellite weather to compatible Garmin displays over the Garmin Marine Network. It’s commonly used on coastal cruisers and offshore fishing boats where a clean helm installation and quick access to fused power matter.
Maintenance and care
Periodically inspect the fuse, cable strain relief, and connector seating, especially after trailering, heavy vibration, or seasonal layup. If you see corrosion starting at a connector, address it early by cleaning and protecting the connection and improving drip loops or shielding in that area.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
