Overview
This Attwood Marine cockpit drain for 1-1/2 in. I.D. hose is made for routing cockpit water into a self-bailing drain system on small boats, fishing boats, and runabouts. It fits through the cockpit surface with a short stem and narrow 2-1/8 in. flange, keeping the installation compact where space around the drain can be limited.
The fitting uses polypropylene construction and connects to 1-1/2 in. inside-diameter hose. Both available versions use a 1-7/8 in. installation hole, while the screen option and stem length vary by configuration.
Key features
- Fits 1-1/2 in. I.D. hose for cockpit drain plumbing in self-bailing cockpit systems.
- Polypropylene construction for a lightweight drain fitting suited to wet cockpit areas.
- Short stem and narrow flange help the drain sit neatly through cockpit panels.
- 2-1/8 in. flange diameter and 1-7/8 in. installation hole size support consistent cutout planning across the range.
- Available with or without a screen, depending on whether debris control at the drain opening is needed.
Variants
This cockpit drain is offered in two configurations for 1-1/2 in. I.D. hose installations.
The screen configuration, stem length, and maximum hull thickness vary between the two variants. The 2-1/8 in. flange diameter and 1-7/8 in. installation hole size remain consistent across both versions.
- 3875C1: screen no, stem length 3-3/4 in., maximum hull thickness 1-1/2 in. This version leaves the drain opening unobstructed, which can suit installations where a separate strainer or open cockpit drain setup is preferred.
- 3882-1: screen yes, stem length 4-3/32 in., maximum hull thickness 1-7/32 in. The screened opening helps limit larger debris from entering the drain line while keeping the same 1-1/2 in. hose connection.
Installation and fit
Plan the installation around a 1-7/8 in. cutout and confirm the cockpit surface thickness before drilling. The maximum hull thickness differs by variant, so the drain should be matched to the panel or cockpit liner where it will be installed.
Because this fitting is intended for 1-1/2 in. I.D. hose, it is a practical match for cockpit drain runs where hose routing, clamp access, and gravity drainage all need to be checked before final assembly.
Use on board
This drain is a good fit for boat owners replacing worn cockpit drains or setting up a self-bailing cockpit drain line with standard 1-1/2 in. hose. It is most relevant for cockpit areas that see washdowns, spray, rainwater, or deck runoff and need a simple through-panel drain connection.
