Overview
The Garmin S11-01315-30 is a voltage converter unit used to power compatible Garmin GMR open-array radar pedestals from a 10 to 40 VDC boat supply, delivering 36 VDC to the radar.
It installs in-line between your vessel's DC distribution and the radar power cable, and it is specified for GMR 404, GMR 406, GMR 604, and GMR 606 open-array radar systems.
The converter input should be fed through a 15 A slow-blow fuse, and the in-line fuse in the radar power cable should remain in place. This unit is intended for the radar power run, not as a general-purpose DC-DC converter for onboard loads.
Key features
- Converts 10 to 40 VDC input to a 36 VDC output for supported open-array radar pedestals
- Specified for Garmin GMR 404, GMR 406, GMR 604, and GMR 606 open-array radars
- Input side is protected with a 15 A slow-blow fuse requirement
- Converter housing can be bonded to the vessel's RF ground
- Includes an 18 in input cable for the power feed
Compatibility and fit
This converter is part of the radar power path on the supported GMR open-array models. It does not replace the Garmin Marine Network cable used for data between the radar and the display.
If you are replacing an existing converter, confirm the radar model and plan your mounting location so the converter can sit close to the DC source while still reaching the radar power lead without strained wiring or chafe points.
Installation and setup
Mount the converter in a dry, accessible location near the power source so the input run stays short and the fuse remains easy to service. Secure the unit so it cannot move under vibration or pound in rough water.
Bring power from the boat supply to the converter input through a 15 A slow-blow fuse. Connect the converter output red and black leads to the radar power cable red and black leads using sealed, heat-shrink style crimps, and keep the radar cable fuse in place.
Bonding the converter housing to the vessel's RF ground can help reduce electrical noise issues that show up as intermittent radar behavior on boats with busy DC systems.
Use cases on board
This is a good fit for refits and replacements where a GMR 404/406/604/606 open-array radar is being installed or serviced and the system requires the external converter stage in the power run. It is also commonly swapped when troubleshooting a no-power condition that traces back to the converter unit.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
