Overview
The Attwood Marine 1675-6 is an in-line fuel overflow protector for traditional fuel tank vent systems that use standard 5/8" ID vent hose. It installs in the vent line rather than the fill hose and uses a ball-style check valve with internal baffling to interrupt the fuel surge that can push out through the vent during refueling. It meets ABYC H-24 and measures about 4-11/16" long, which helps when the vent run is tucked inside the gunwale or another tight space.
As the tank nears full, it helps automatic fuel nozzles shut off before fuel spills from the vent. When refueling with a non-automatic nozzle, it creates a gurgling warning so the tank does not get topped off blindly. The body withstands oil, gasoline, and alcohol-blended fuels, and it can be mounted in any orientation within 45 degrees of vertical.
Key features
- Fits traditional marine fuel tank vent systems that use standard 5/8" ID vent hose
- Ball-style check valve with internal baffling helps stop vent-line surge during refueling
- Helps automatic fuel nozzles shut off as the tank approaches full
- Produces a gurgling warning with non-automatic nozzles when the tank is near capacity
- Operates within 45 degrees of vertical, which gives more flexibility in tight vent runs
- Glass-filled polypropylene body withstands oil, gasoline, and alcohol-blended fuels
- Meets ABYC H-24
Compatibility and fit
This unit is for boats with a traditional vented fuel tank and a 5/8" inside-diameter vent hose. It is not a deck fill, a fill hose fitting, or an exterior vent fitting by itself. It is the in-line device that sits between sections of the vent hose to manage surge as the tank fills.
It is a sensible match for boats that are regularly fueled at marina pumps and for installations where the vent hose runs behind the hull side or inside the gunwale. The compact body helps when there is not much straight hose length available, but the mounting angle still needs to stay within the allowed range.
Installation and setup
Installation is straightforward: cut the vent hose, place the protector in line with the vent side oriented correctly, and secure the hose with the supplied clamps. Before fitting it, check the hose route and confirm there is enough access to keep the unit within 45 degrees of vertical once the hose is supported and the paneling is back in place.
For buyers trying to solve fuel spitback from the vent during normal refueling, this is the part that addresses that problem without changing the deck fill hardware. It suits owners who want cleaner fill-ups and a clearer warning as the tank reaches capacity.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team.
