Overview

The Garmin 010-02366-53 is a GPSMAP 943xsv 9 inch touchscreen chartplotter and fishfinder bundle with a GMR 18 HD3 radome radar and built-in Garmin Navionics+ mapping. It runs on 10 to 32 Vdc, so it fits typical 12V and 24V systems without a converter.

At the helm you get a 1280 x 720 WXGA display in a housing rated IPX7, with a footprint of about 9.2 x 6.4 x 3 inches (23.3 x 16.2 x 7.6 cm). The radar side is a 4 kW dome with a 36 nm maximum range and a 20 m minimum range, which helps when you need usable targets close in while docking or picking through traffic.

This bundle is a strong match for a boat that wants charting, built-in sonar, and compact radar from one screen, whether you are running coastal, fishing structure, or making longer runs where squalls and night navigation are part of the plan.

Key features
  • 9.0 inch touchscreen display (22.9 cm diagonal) with 1280 x 720 WXGA resolution.
  • Chartplotter input voltage from 10 to 32 Vdc with a 6 A fast-acting fuse rating.
  • IPX7 water rating on both the chartplotter and the radar for normal spray and washdown exposure.
  • Built-in Ultra High-Definition SideVü and ClearVü scanning sonar plus 1 kW CHIRP traditional sonar support.
  • Garmin Navionics+ mapping built in for coastal and inland charting.
  • Networking and I/O for system builds: NMEA 2000, NMEA 0183 in and out, J1939, and a Garmin Marine Network port.
  • GMR 18 HD3 radar specs that matter on the water: 4 kW peak output, 36 nm max range, 20 m minimum range, and 8-bit true color target presentation.
  • Radar power input from 11 to 32 Vdc with a 7.5 A fuse rating, plus timed transmit options to manage power draw.
Compatibility and system integration

The GPSMAP 943xsv is built for a mixed helm network. It supports NMEA 2000 for sensors and backbone data, NMEA 0183 for legacy gear, and J1939 for compatible engine gateways. The Garmin Marine Network port is the path for radar sharing, sonar sharing, and video sources within a compatible Garmin system.

For storage and updates, the unit has two microSD card slots (32 GB max card size). Wireless connectivity operates on 2.4 GHz, which is useful for app-based updates and onboard connectivity features when you have coverage or a marina Wi-Fi link.

Sonar and fishfinding on board

As an xsv model, the unit supports built-in scanning sonar and traditional CHIRP capability. That matters when you want to read bottom structure and bait clearly at speed, then slow down and pick apart hard edges, ledges, and wrecks with SideVü and ClearVü views. A compatible transducer is still required for on-the-water sonar performance, and Panoptix and LiveScope systems are supported when paired with the appropriate hardware.

Radar installation and use at the helm

The GMR 18 HD3 radome is rated IPX7 and has a thermoplastic resin case that holds up well in typical saltwater environments when it is mounted correctly and the fasteners are sealed. It draws about 15 W in standby and about 40 W when transmitting, and it is meant to be mounted with attention to safe separation from people while transmitting and with an appropriate compass-safe distance (1.2 m).

The radar uses Garmin BlueNet networking technology and can be used in Garmin Marine Network systems with the proper adapter cable. All radar functions are controlled from the chartplotter, so you handle transmit, gain, sea clutter, overlays, and target views directly on the GPSMAP screen.

Installation and setup

The chartplotter can be bail mounted, flush mounted, or mounted flat depending on your dash layout. For planning the cutout and cable routing, allow space behind the unit for connections and service access, and keep it far enough from a magnetic compass to avoid interference.

Use the correct fuse protection at the power source, secure cables away from heat and moving parts, and seal any deck or hardtop penetrations for the radar cabling. On boats that see vibration or pounding, solid backing and good strain relief at the connectors make a noticeable difference long term.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
