Overview
The Vimar Idea 16743 Classica is a 3-module cover plate for IDEA wiring devices, with a 120 x 82 mm face size, 8.9 mm depth, and support for either horizontal or vertical mounting.
Across this range, the plate is suitable for built-in installations, wall ducts, and subfloor duct boxes, and it includes a label space for identification. The body is halogen-free and rated IP00, so it belongs in protected interior locations rather than wet or exposed parts of a boat.

Variants
This product is offered in five configurations.
The differences across the range are color and the stated material option. The 3-module Classica format, mounting orientation, and installation use stay the same across the listed variants.
- VM16743.D.04: Idea White / Silk. This version uses the softer Idea White tone with a matt lacquered surface.
- VM16743.01: Bright White / Technopolymer. This keeps the same Classica shape in a brighter white finish with a glossy surface.
- VM16743.16: Black / Technopolymer. This is the dark option for panels and interiors where black devices or stronger contrast make more sense.
- VM16743.15: Graphite Grey / Technopolymer. This gives the plate a neutral grey look between white and black.
- VM16743.04: Idea White / Technopolymer. This keeps the warmer Idea White tone in the technopolymer version.
Compatibility and fit
It fits the Vimar IDEA 3-module layout and is intended for installations that call for the Classica plate profile. Before ordering for a refit, check the device family, module count, plate style, and color tone, since Idea White and Bright White are different whites.
The option to mount it horizontally or vertically helps when the same switch layout needs to be turned to suit a bulkhead, cabin partition, or furniture panel.
Use on board
For marine interiors, this cover plate makes sense in cabins, galleys, heads, and other enclosed areas where the electrical point is protected from spray. IP00 means it should not be used on open decks, exposed cockpits, or other places that see washdowns.
It is a good match for builders and refit owners already using the Vimar IDEA system who want a 3-module plate with a choice of white, graphite grey, black, or Silk finish.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
