Overview
The Vimar Plana Series is a 7-module cover plate that finishes off a row of Plana modular wiring devices with a clean, flush front. It is sized at 206 mm wide by 80 mm high, with a 9 mm depth, so you can confirm it will sit neatly on a bulkhead panel, console face, or interior wall section without crowding nearby trim.
This plate can be installed horizontally or vertically, which is useful when you are working around cabinetry, helm panels, or wiring trunking. The plate itself is IP00, so it is a finishing piece rather than a sealing component.
Key features
- 7-module cover plate format for Vimar Plana modular device layouts
- Mounting direction: horizontal or vertical
- Overall dimensions: 206 mm (W) x 80 mm (H) x 9 mm (D)
- Clamp mounting style for a tidy front once seated on the support
- Halogen-free construction
- IP00 protection rating (the plate does not add water sealing)
- Available across multiple finishes and materials, including technopolymer, metal, and solid wood
Variants
This cover plate is offered in a wide finish range so you can match surrounding switchgear and interior styling without changing the basic 7-module layout.
Across the range, the finish and material vary between technopolymer, metal, and solid wood, including standard colours, Reflex finishes, and Plana Up Design finishes. Some options are offered in an antibacterial white finish.
Compatibility and fit
This plate is intended for Plana installations that use a 7-module arrangement. Before ordering, confirm the module count of the support behind your existing plate and check that the visible opening and surrounding trim allow for a 206 mm by 80 mm face.
On boats, these plates are commonly used for interior lighting and accessory switch groups, outlets, and control points in areas such as cabins, saloons, nav stations, and protected helm consoles where the wiring devices sit behind a finished panel.
Installation and setup
Installation is typically done after the wiring devices and their support are fixed in place. Align the plate with the support and seat it using the clamp mounting points, then check that the edges sit flat with no rocking, which can happen if a panel is uneven or fasteners are over-tightened.
If you are mounting vertically, verify the orientation before final seating so any label area or information surface aligns the way you want it in the finished panel.
Marine placement notes
Because the plate is rated IP00, keep it in dry, protected locations or inside an enclosure that provides the required ingress protection for the space. For heads, galleys, open cockpits, or anywhere that can see washdowns or spray, the plate should be part of a properly protected installation rather than exposed directly.
Wood finish options belong in climate-controlled interiors where moisture swings are limited. Metal and technopolymer finishes are a better match for higher-traffic interior areas where surfaces get wiped down more often.
Maintenance and care
Clean with a soft cloth and mild cleaner suitable for the finish. Avoid abrasive pads that can dull metal finishes or scratch technopolymer surfaces, and keep harsh solvents away from any printed markings or label areas.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
