Overview
The Vimar Eikon EXÉ is a metal cover plate that finishes off a Vimar Eikon modular switch or control point with a clean, square frame. It uses a 90 x 90 mm faceplate format and carries an IP00 rating, so it belongs in dry, protected locations rather than anywhere that sees spray or washdowns.
These plates are made for 2M layouts and mount horizontally or vertically, so they work well on bulkheads and panels where the switch bank orientation depends on the available space. The surface is matte with a protective finish, which helps it keep a consistent look in living spaces where hands and fingerprints are part of everyday use.
On board, this is a tidy way to finish switch and scene-control areas in cabins, the saloon, nav station, or a sheltered helm console, especially when you are standardizing the look across different zones of the boat.
Key features
- Metal cover plate with a matte surface finish and protective surface treatment
- 2M cover-plate format with versions for one control position or two control positions
- Flat and Tondo front styles available, depending on the controls you are pairing it with
- Mounts horizontally or vertically to suit the panel layout
- With mounting grid and clamp-mount fastening style
- Label space and information surface for clearer identification at the switch bank
Variants
This range is offered in multiple configurations that change the finish and the front style, plus whether the plate is set up for a single 2M control position (2Mx1) or two control positions (2Mx2).
Finish options include Anthracite Grey, Gold, Matt White, Satin Gold, Brushed Nickel, and Brushed Dark Bronze. The module style is listed as Flat or Tondo, and that choice should match the type of controls being installed so the plate sits correctly around the control faces.
Compatibility and fit
This is a cover frame for Vimar Eikon installations, intended to be used with compatible back boxes, supports, and Eikon modules already mounted in the wall or panel. The 2Mx1 versions suit a single 2M control point, while 2Mx2 versions suit two control points laid out side by side on the same plate.
When you are matching a replacement, check both the front style noted on the existing controls (Flat or Tondo) and the number of control positions you need the frame to cover. Keeping those two details aligned avoids gaps around the controls and keeps the finished panel looking straight.
Installation and setup
Install the switching device and support first, then fit the cover plate as the finishing step. Because these plates mount in either orientation, you can rotate the frame to suit the layout before fastening it down.
On a boat, take a moment to confirm the cutout edges are sealed and the back box stays dry, especially on bulkheads that can pick up condensation. A dry, stable mounting surface helps the frame sit flat and keeps the visible gaps even.
Maintenance and care
Wipe the faceplate with a soft cloth and mild cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and harsh solvents that can mark a matte surface or dull the finish over time.
If the plate is installed near a companionway or galley where salt residue is common, a quick wipe-down as part of routine interior cleaning helps keep the finish looking consistent.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
