Overview

The Simrad HDI Thru-Hull 50/200/455/800 kHz 9-pin transducer is a bronze thru-hull transducer that combines 50/200 kHz sonar with 455/800 kHz DownScan Imaging, plus an integrated temperature sensor.

It comes with a 10 m (33 ft) attached cable and a 9-pin connector for a direct run back to a compatible sounder. Beam widths are 45° at 50 kHz and 11° at 200 kHz, with DownScan beams of 2.8° (fore-aft) x 56° (port-starboard) at 455 kHz and 1.6° (fore-aft) x 32° (port-starboard) at 800 kHz.

This transducer is offered in multiple tilt angles so the internal element sits closer to level once installed on hulls with deadrise. After installation, select the installed transducer type in your display or sounder setup menu so the unit can apply the right sonar and imaging profiles.

Key features
  • 50/200 kHz sonar plus 455/800 kHz DownScan Imaging in one thru-hull transducer
  • Integrated temperature sensor
  • Beam widths: 50 kHz 45°, 200 kHz 11°, 455 kHz 2.8° x 56°, 800 kHz 1.6° x 32°
  • 10 m (33 ft) attached cable with 9-pin connector
  • Bronze thru-hull housing commonly used on fiberglass or wood hulls
  • Tilt angle options (0°, 12°, 20°) to match hull deadrise at the mounting point
Variants

Offered in three tilt angles to match the hull deadrise at the mounting location.

The tilt angle is what changes between versions, so the sonar element sits closer to level once the housing is installed through the hull.

  • 000-13905-001 (Degrees: 0 Degrees). Intended for hull deadrise angles from 0° to 7° at the mounting point.
  • 000-13906-001 (Degrees: 12 Degrees). Intended for hull deadrise angles from 8° to 15° at the mounting point.
  • 000-13907-001 (Degrees: 20 Degrees). Intended for hull deadrise angles from 16° to 24° at the mounting point.
Compatibility and fit

This is a thru-hull transducer with a 9-pin connector. Confirm your display or sounder has a 9-pin sonar input and supports HDI functions (traditional sonar plus DownScan Imaging).

Bronze housings are generally used on fiberglass or wood hulls. Avoid installing a bronze housing in a metal hull, and avoid installations on vessels with a positive ground system.

Installation and setup

Plan on a fairing-style install so water flow stays smooth under the transducer face. The mounting hole size is 60 mm (2-3/8").

Pick a location that stays in clean, solid water and is clear of intakes, steps, strakes, and running gear. Align the arrow on top of the transducer toward the keel or centerline so the internal element orientation matches your deadrise.

Route the cable away from high-current wiring and engines, and protect it with grommets where it passes through bulkheads. Do not remove the connector to make routing easier; coil and secure extra cable instead. After launch, check for leaks right away and re-check within a few hours.

Maintenance and care

In saltwater, a water-based antifouling coating on the exposed surfaces helps slow marine growth. Keep solvents away from the face and plastic parts, and inspect the bedding and nut area during routine bilge and haul-out checks.

Use cases on board

This setup fits coastal cruising and fishing boats that want one thru-hull pickup for 50/200 kHz sonar and 455/800 kHz DownScan Imaging, with temperature data available at the helm.

It also suits boats where a transom-mount can aerate or lose bottom, and a thru-hull location is needed for more consistent returns underway.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
