Overview

The Raymarine T911 is a long-body retractable thru-hull speed transducer for Raymarine and Tacktick instrument installations that need speed-through-water data with built-in water temperature sensing. It fits a 2 inch thru-hull opening and supports hull thicknesses up to 2.125 inches, or 55 mm, making it a practical replacement or service part for many sailing and cruising boats using compatible Raymarine wireless instrument systems.

This transducer has been used with mn100 T100 Speed and Depth systems since August 2004, replacing the earlier T904 short-body speed transducer in that application. The retractable insert helps with routine paddlewheel cleaning, while the flap valve reduces water ingress when the insert is removed. A 6 m cable is supplied for routing back to the instrument interface or hull transmitter.

Key features
  • Long-body retractable thru-hull speed transducer with internal temperature sensor.
  • 2 inch diameter installation size for the thru-hull fitting.
  • Supports hull thickness up to 2.125 inches, or 55 mm.
  • Flap valve reduces water ingress when the insert is pulled for cleaning.
  • Low-profile housing helps limit drag outside the hull.
  • Supplied with 6 m of cable for onboard routing.
  • Includes a blanking plug for use when the transducer insert is removed.
  • Suitable for compatible Raymarine and Tacktick wireless instrument systems, including T100 installations from August 2004 onward.
Installation and fit

The T911 is meant for thru-hull mounting below the waterline, where clean water flow can reach the paddlewheel. The 2 inch fitting size and 55 mm maximum hull thickness should be checked against the existing hull fitting before ordering, especially when replacing an older short-body unit or working on a cored hull.

Because this is a retractable transducer, access inside the boat matters. Leave enough room above the fitting to withdraw the insert for cleaning and to install the blanking plug when needed. On sailing boats and displacement cruisers, a centerline or near-centerline location with steady water flow usually gives the most consistent speed readings.

System compatibility

This transducer is a speed and temperature sensor for compatible Raymarine instrument systems, including Raymarine and Tacktick wireless instrument installations that use the appropriate hull transmitter or instrument interface. It is not a fishfinder CHIRP transducer and should not be treated as a depth sounder or sonar replacement.

For replacement work, match the transducer type, connector or wire termination, cable route, and existing hull fitting before installation. Boats originally fitted with mn100 T100 Speed and Depth systems from August 2004 onward are the main use case for this long-body version.

Maintenance and care

Paddlewheel speed readings depend on free movement of the wheel, so marine growth, paint buildup, or small debris can affect performance. The retractable body lets the insert be removed for cleaning while the flap valve helps limit the amount of water entering the boat during service.

This is a good match for sailboats and cruising boats where accurate speed-through-water is used for trimming, routing, current awareness, and instrument calibration. Regular inspection during the season is especially useful in warm saltwater or any berth where growth builds up quickly.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
