Overview
The Perko 1205 is an angled flush mount fishing rod holder with a fixed 65° mounting angle for gunwale, covering board, or cockpit installations where a clean deck surface and usable rod angle matter. It uses a chrome plated zinc alloy flange with an anodized aluminum tube, a soft black liner, and a flange gasket with an integral flip-up cap to help cover the opening when the holder is not in use.
This rod holder has a 2 inch tube outside diameter, 1-5/8 inch tube inside diameter, 4-1/4 inch x 3-1/2 inch flange, and uses 1/4 inch mounting bolts. The range includes versions with and without a drain bib, so the installation can match how the boat handles water entering the tube after washdowns, spray, or rain.
Key features
- 65° angled flush mount layout suits cockpit and gunwale positions where rods need to sit at a practical trolling or storage angle.
- Chrome plated zinc alloy flange gives the deck surface a finished look while the anodized aluminum tube keeps the below-deck section light.
- Soft black liner helps protect rod butts from direct contact with the metal tube.
- Flange gasket with integral flip-up cap helps cover the holder opening when it is not being used.
- 2 inch tube outside diameter and 1-5/8 inch tube inside diameter provide key fit details for checking rod butt clearance and replacement compatibility.
- 4-1/4 inch x 3-1/2 inch flange and 1/4 inch bolt size help confirm deck layout before drilling.
- Drain bib version accepts 5/8 inch I.D. flexible hose for routing water away from enclosed spaces when the installation calls for drainage.
Variants
This Perko 1205 rod holder is offered in two configurations within the same 65° angled flush mount family.
The drain bib and length under flange are the main differences between the variants. The chrome plated zinc alloy flange, anodized aluminum tube, soft black liner, flange gasket with integral flip-up cap, 2 inch tube outside diameter, 1-5/8 inch tube inside diameter, 4-1/4 inch x 3-1/2 inch flange, and 1/4 inch bolt size remain consistent across these configurations.
- 1205DP0CHR: Drain bib: No; length under flange: 8 inches. This version suits installations where the area below the rod holder can manage incidental water without a hose connection.
- 1205DPDCHR: Drain bib: Yes; length under flange: 9-1/2 inches. The integral drain bib is for use with 5/8 inch I.D. flexible hose, which helps route water away from lockers or enclosed spaces below the deck.
Installation and fit
Before cutting, check the available space below the mounting surface against the selected length under flange, especially near liner panels, flotation spaces, wiring, fuel fills, and washdown plumbing. The 65° tube angle also needs clearance in the direction the tube points, not only straight down from the flange.
The flange should sit on a fair, solid mounting surface that can support rod loads during trolling, drifting, and dockside use. Bedding the flange gasket correctly and using suitable 1/4 inch fasteners for the deck structure helps keep the installation secure and tidy.
Use cases on board
This holder is a practical fit for fishing boats, center consoles, walkarounds, and other cockpit layouts where a flush mount rod position is preferred over a clamp-on or rail-mounted holder. The drain bib version is especially useful where water needs to be led away from dry storage, battery areas, or finished compartments below the gunwale.
