Overview

The Simrad Micro-C female to SimNet cable is an adapter lead for linking Micro-C network cabling to a SimNet backbone when you are mixing newer Micro-C drops with legacy SimNet wiring.

It uses a Micro-C (female) connector on one end and a SimNet connector on the other, making it a straightforward way to bridge between the two connector styles on an onboard network. It is offered in 1.0 m (3.2 ft) and 4.0 m (13 ft) lengths to suit tight helm installs or longer runs back to a backbone connection.

Key features
  • Connects a Micro-C (female) network connection to a SimNet backbone.
  • Female SimNet connector on one end and a female NMEA 2000 Micro-C style connector on the other.
  • Available in 1.0 m (3.2 ft) and 4.0 m (13 ft) lengths for clean routing in consoles and cable chases.
  • Helps keep an existing SimNet backbone in place while adding or relocating Micro-C based network connections.
Variants

This cable is available in multiple lengths to match different routing paths on board.

The connector types stay the same across the options, with the cable length being the only change.

  • 24006199: 1.0 m (3.2 ft) cable. A short run that fits well inside helm pods, electronics boxes, and instrument clusters where the backbone connection is close by.
  • 24006413: 4.0 m (13 ft) cable. Added reach for routing through conduits, across bulkheads, or from a backbone location to a more distant device mounting point.
Compatibility and fit

Confirm the network side you are connecting to uses SimNet, and that the Micro-C end will mate to a Micro-C male port (commonly a tee or device connection on a Micro-C based network). If your boat is already all SimNet or all Micro-C, a standard cable with matching connectors is typically the better match.

Installation and setup

Route the cable with gentle bends and support it so the connectors are not carrying the weight of the run. In consoles and lockers, keep connectors up off the bilge and away from spots where water can pool, and leave enough service loop to unplug equipment for troubleshooting without straining the cable.

Use cases on board

This adapter is a common fit for refits where an older SimNet backbone remains in place, but newer Micro-C network connections need to be brought into the same system. It also suits boats where the backbone location is fixed, and a device is being moved to a new mounting position that needs a different cable length.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
