Overview
The Hella Marine Slim Line is a recessed-mount, warm white LED square courtesy lamp built for interior and exterior accent lighting on boats in places where you want light without glare.
It is fully sealed to IP67 and is pre-wired with 120 mm of cable for straightforward hookups behind panels. The lamp mounts into a cut-out with a shallow 16 mm mounting depth, with four mounting holes on a 45 mm square pattern.
Key features
- Warm white LED output for low-level courtesy and step lighting
- IP67 sealing for wet lockers, cockpits, and washdown-prone areas
- 12V or 24V DC versions available to match common onboard systems
- Shallow recessed installation with 16 mm mounting depth
- Pre-wired with 120 mm cable to simplify terminations behind liners and cabinetry
- Polarity conscious wiring; reverse polarity will stop operation but will not damage the lamp
- Fuse protection requirement: 2A maximum
Variants
This light is offered in multiple configurations that change finish and system voltage.
The finish affects the visible trim around the lamp, and the voltage option matches either 12V DC or 24V DC onboard power.
- 980580771: Chrome Finish, 12V. A bright-looking trim that pairs well with stainless hardware and other polished fittings on deck or in the cabin.
- 980580751: White Finish, 12V. A low-contrast trim that blends into white liners, head compartments, and fiberglass interiors.
- 980581771: Chrome Finish, 24V. The same chrome-trim look for vessels running 24V house or distribution systems.
- 980581751: White Finish, 24V. A white-trim option for clean, discreet installs on 24V boats.
What’s included
- Pre-wired lamp with 120 mm cable
- Mounting gasket
- 4 stainless steel mounting screws
Installation and wiring
Mount on a flat surface with the supplied gasket. The lens can be used as a drilling template, with the four mounting holes located on the corners of a 45 mm square. After fastening, fit the bezel to the lens.
Wire the colored lead to positive (+) and the black lead to negative (-). Protect the circuit with a fuse rated at 2A maximum.
Compatibility and fit
This Slim Line square lamp suits tight mounting locations where depth behind the panel is limited. The IP67 seal makes it a sensible choice for areas that see spray, condensation, or routine washdowns, as long as the wiring connections are also sealed appropriately.
Use on board
This style of courtesy light is commonly used for companionway steps, cockpit footwells, side decks, transom entries, and low-level cabin lighting where you want enough light to move safely without lighting up the whole space.
