Overview
The Hella Marine 0500 Series is a slim line round soft LED courtesy light for 12 VDC systems when you want low-level light in walkways and working areas on board. It puts out a soft white glow through a clear lens, which helps with night movement without blasting your night vision.
The housing is sealed for wet boat life, and it comes pre-wired with 120 mm of single core marine cable to keep wiring simple in tight spaces. It can also be dimmed with Hella Marine dimmer 998572001 when you want to knock the brightness down for overnight use.

Variants
This light is offered in multiple configurations to match different mounting preferences and space constraints.
Variants are listed by size and mounting method. The electrical side remains a 12 VDC courtesy-light setup, while the physical configuration depends on the option shown for each part number.
- 958358201: Size 10-Inch, mounting bracket mount. Bracket mounting suits installations where you want a fixed, repeatable aim and a secure mechanical attachment.
- 980500021: Size 16-Inch, mounting bracket mount. The 16-Inch size option gives you the same bracket-style mounting format in a larger footprint.
- 958358211: Size 10-Inch, mounting magnet mount. Magnet mounting is useful when quick placement and removal matters on suitable metal surfaces.
- 980500041: Size 16-Inch, mounting magnet mount. Magnet mounting paired with the 16-Inch size option keeps the same quick on and off approach with a larger format.
Installation and wiring
Plan the mounting location like you would any courtesy light: pick a spot that throws light across a step edge or walkway without shining straight into seated eyes. Keep the cable run protected from chafe and heat, then tie into a switched 12 VDC lighting circuit with the same fuse and wire sizing you use for the rest of your onboard lighting.
If you are adding dimming, place the dimmer where it can be reached underway and route the wiring cleanly so vibration does not work connections loose over time.
Use on board
This style of light makes sense for companionway steps, cockpit footwells, side-deck pass-throughs, locker openings, and other spots where you want a gentle reference light after dark. It is a good match for owners who run at night, anchor out, or just want safer movement around the boat without turning on full cabin lighting.
Maintenance and care
Rinse with fresh water after salt exposure and wipe the lens with a soft cloth. Skip harsh solvents on the plastic lens so it stays clear over time.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
