Overview

The Raymarine D031 is a cantilever mounting socket for attaching the fixed end of a Raymarine tiller autopilot to a vertical face, such as a cockpit sidewall. It is used when the pilot cannot be mounted directly to a cockpit seat and needs a horizontal support point at the correct distance from the tiller pin.

This socket assembly lets the installer cut the cantilever to suit the boat, with a maximum possible extension offset of 254 mm (10 in). That makes it useful on tiller-steered sailboats where cockpit layout, coaming shape, or seat position puts the autopilot's fixed end away from a flat horizontal mounting surface.

Key features
  • Mounts the fixed end of a Raymarine tiller autopilot to a vertical surface.
  • Helps keep the tiller pilot horizontal when a direct cockpit-seat socket position is not available.
  • Allows the cantilever rod to be cut to length during installation for a boat-specific fit.
  • Supports a maximum possible extension offset of 254 mm (10 in).
  • Mechanical mounting accessory with no power, network, or data connection to configure.
Installation and fit

Set the tiller on the boat's centerline before measuring. The tiller pilot installation depends on the correct relationship between the socket position and the tiller pin, so the cantilever should be cut only after the mounting distance has been checked on the actual boat.

The mounting ring is fitted to the vertical face, then the rod assembly screws into place. The cap at the pilot end must be bonded after cutting, and the pin hole should face upward so the tiller pilot can sit correctly on the mount. When the tiller pilot is not being used, the rod assembly can be unscrewed to leave the cockpit less obstructed.

Use cases on board

This bracket is a practical match for tiller-steered sailing boats where the cockpit sidewall, coaming, or seat arrangement prevents a standard socket position. It suits refits and replacement installations where the autopilot works well but the boat needs a cleaner fixed mounting point.

Compatibility and system notes

The D031 is mounting hardware only. It does not change the autopilot's electrical supply, SeaTalk, NMEA, or control setup, and it should be selected for the physical mounting geometry of the tiller pilot rather than for electronic compatibility.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
