Overview

The Hella Marine LED Floodlight G4 is a compact deck and spreader light for 12V and 24V DC systems, offered with close-range or long-range beam patterns depending on the configuration.

It draws 21W and outputs 2100 lumens at 6500K (daylight white), which suits real onboard tasks like lighting a cockpit work area, checking lines and hardware on the foredeck, and keeping a dockside load-in bright without relying on a handheld light.

The housing is sealed to IP6K9K and built around an aluminium body with a corrosion-resistant coating, a glass lens, and a stainless mounting bracket for installations exposed to salt spray, washdowns, and constant vibration.

Key features
  • Two optic options: Close range for wide, even coverage nearby, and long range for a tighter beam that reaches farther.
  • Multivolt electronics for 12V and 24V DC systems, operating across 9 to 33V.
  • 2100-lumen output at 6500K for a clean, daylight-white look that helps when working with lines, bait, and deck gear at night.
  • 21W draw (about 1.75A at 12V or 0.88A at 24V) for predictable battery and wiring planning.
  • IP6K9K sealing for heavy spray and washdowns.
  • Aluminium housing with corrosion-resistant coating, glass lens, and stainless mounting bracket.
Variants

This light is offered in multiple configurations to match how and where you mount it on the boat.

Configurations vary by housing color and beam pattern (Close Range or Long Range). Other fit and installation details should be checked against your available mounting space and wiring run.

  • 980502641: Product Color White with Close Range beam pattern. This spread is meant to light up nearby working areas like the cockpit, transom, and foredeck.
  • 980507271: Product Color Black with Close Range beam pattern. This spread covers deck and dockside tasks where you want an even wash of light close to the boat.
  • 980507341: Product Color Black with Long Range beam pattern. This pattern carries farther and can suit higher mounting points where you need reach more than width.
Installation and setup

Mount the light where it can work as a true task light and not just create glare. Under a hardtop, on a radar arch, at the transom, or as a spreader-style light on a mast are common placements, depending on the beam pattern and what you need to illuminate.

Route the cable so it is supported and protected from chafe, then seal any fastener penetrations appropriate to your mounting surface. Aim the lamp at the area you actually work in, and take a moment at night to fine-tune the angle before you lock everything down.

Electrical and system integration

This is a DC light for 12V and 24V boats. Plan wiring and switching based on the expected current draw and run length, and keep the circuit protected with the correct fuse or breaker at the supply. The electronics are built to handle voltage swings and include protection features to help in real-world marine power conditions.

Choosing close range vs long range on board

Close Range is the better match when the light is mounted near the area you want to illuminate and you want coverage without harsh hotspots, such as a cockpit work surface, swim platform, or foredeck. Long Range makes more sense when the light is mounted higher or farther away and you need reach for docking approaches, picking up markers, or lighting a working area at a distance.

This series is a solid fit for cruisers who want dependable deck lighting, anglers who need a bright work area without a lot of power draw, and crews who regularly load, rig, or clean up after dark.

Maintenance and care

Rinse the housing after saltwater use and check the mounting hardware periodically, especially after long runs in chop. Keeping the lens clean makes a noticeable difference in usable light on deck.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
