Overview

The Blue Sea Systems 8143 is a 230V AC circuit breaker panel with one 16A double-pole main breaker, three 8A single-pole branch breakers, and an analog voltmeter that reads from 0 to 250V AC.

This panel is built for boats running a 230V AC system and gives you a clean way to switch, protect, and monitor a small group of onboard circuits from one location. It comes with hot, neutral, and safety ground buses already installed and pre-wired, so it fits well when replacing an older panel or adding a compact AC distribution point.

Its 7.5 x 5.25 inch footprint works in tight helm, cabin, or utility spaces where a full-size distribution panel would be excessive. The reverse polarity indicator and lit switch positions make it easier to confirm system status at a glance when you are bringing shore power online or checking branch circuits underway or at the dock.

Key features
  • 230V AC panel layout with one main breaker and three branch circuit positions
  • Installed 16A double-pole main breaker for disconnecting and protecting the incoming AC feed
  • Three installed 8A single-pole branch breakers for smaller onboard AC circuits
  • Analog voltmeter with a 0 to 250V AC range for quick voltage checks at the panel
  • Reverse polarity warning light for spotting shore power wiring faults before they become a bigger problem
  • Hot, neutral, and safety ground buses are already fitted and pre-wired
  • Backlit circuit label positions and ON indication lights in every circuit position
  • Maximum panel amperage of 50A for compact 230V AC distribution setups
  • Panel face built from 1/8 inch 5052 aluminum with a corrosion-resistant undercoating and polyurethane finish
Installation and fit

This panel suits installations where you need a compact AC main and branch distribution point without building up a panel from separate breakers, meters, and buses. The countersunk mounting points help it sit cleanly in a finished bulkhead or control surface, and the standard panel dimensions make it easier to match an existing opening during refit work.

Because the breakers, indicator lights, meter, and buses are already in place, wiring is more straightforward than assembling the same functions from individual parts. For many boats with a modest 230V AC load plan, this layout covers the essentials without taking up much dashboard or cabin wall space.

Compatibility and onboard use

This model makes sense on boats using a European-style 230V AC system where you want one main disconnect and a few separate branch circuits for common onboard loads. It fits well in sailboats, small cruisers, and workboats that need simple AC distribution for cabin outlets, chargers, or other light AC services within the panel's breaker ratings.

It is a practical match when you want panel-mounted voltage monitoring without adding a separate gauge elsewhere. The built-in meter helps confirm incoming AC voltage during hookup and gives the crew a quick reference point when troubleshooting low or unstable shore power.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
