Overview
The Raymarine A28167 is a wind vane service kit for compatible Raymarine masthead wind transducers, replacing the vane, counterbalance weight, anemometer cups, and screws at the top of the rig. It works with Raymarine ST60, ST60+, i60, and ST290 egg-shape masthead transducers, helping restore the moving wind-sensing parts that are exposed to sun, salt, vibration, and bird strikes.
This kit is meant for service work on an existing wind transducer rather than a full transducer replacement. It is a practical match for sailboats that still use these Raymarine wind instrument systems and need to keep apparent wind angle and wind speed readings usable without replacing the masthead assembly.
Key features
- Replacement vane and cup set for compatible Raymarine masthead wind transducers.
- Includes the vane, counterbalance weight, anemometer cups, and screws needed for the service point at the masthead.
- Compatible with Raymarine ST60, ST60+, i60, and ST290 egg-shape masthead transducers.
- Useful when existing cups or the wind vane are worn, damaged, missing, or giving poor wind data after exposure aloft.
- Supports repair of the exposed moving parts while keeping the existing instrument system and transducer installation in place.
Compatibility and fit
Before ordering, compare the existing masthead sensor with the system on board. This service kit is for the later Raymarine wind transducer style with hemispherical cups. Some older ST60 installations used a different cup shape and require a different service kit.
Fit is especially important because the vane and cups sit high on the mast, where access can be limited. Confirm the instrument family and the shape of the existing cups before scheduling masthead service.
Installation and use on board
This part is typically installed during masthead wind transducer maintenance, often when the boat is unrigged, hauled, or when safe mast access is available. The service replaces the exposed wind direction and wind speed sensing pieces that take the most abuse from weather and movement aloft.
It is well suited for cruising and sailing boats that depend on Raymarine wind data for trimming sails, monitoring apparent wind, and keeping older instrument systems in service.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
