Overview
The Hella Marine 3562 series Port Navigation Lamp is a red-lens port sidelight for 12V systems with a 1 nautical mile visibility rating.
It uses a 12V / 10W SV8.5 incandescent bulb and mounts on a vertical surface, with the supply wiring entering through the base plate and a rubber grommet.
The housing and lens are plastic that resists UV exposure and impacts. It is non-magnetic, saltwater resistant, and rated IP54 for exposed mounting locations.
Key features
- 1 nautical mile visibility rating with a red lens for port-side navigation
- 12V / 10W SV8.5 incandescent bulb included (non-LED)
- Vertical surface mount with cable entry through the base plate and rubber grommet
- Snap-lock housing so the bulb can be changed without tools
- Housing and lens resist UV exposure and impacts
- IP54 protection for spray and washdown
- Non-magnetic construction for use near compasses
Variants
This lamp is offered with two housing color options.
Both versions use the same red lens, 1 nautical mile rating, 12V / 10W SV8.5 bulb type, vertical surface mounting style, IP54 protection, and the same approvals.
- 003562035: Product color Black. Black housing blends into dark rails and trim when the light is mounted close to deck level.
- 003562135: Product color White. White housing matches light-colored cabin sides and arches while keeping the same mounting and wiring layout.
What's included
- Port navigation lamp assembly
- 12V / 10W SV8.5 incandescent bulb
Installation and wiring
Mount on the port side with the lens facing forward and outboard, and keep it clear of stanchions, canvas, or rub rails that can block the light sector.
Route the supply wiring through the base plate and grommet, then connect it to your switched 12V navigation-light circuit using sealed marine connections and heat-shrink protection.
For service, open the snap-lock housing, replace the bulb, and make sure the lens and housing are fully seated before heading back out.
Approvals and on-board use
Approvals include IMO COLREG 72, USCG, ABYC A-16, RINA, and Maritime NZ. This is a good match for yachts and powerboats running a 12V navigation-light circuit that need a dedicated port sidelight with an incandescent bulb you can replace anywhere.
Maintenance and care
Rinse with fresh water after salt exposure and wipe the lens clean so the red light stays crisp at night. Periodically check the base grommet and mounting screws, especially on boats that see heavy vibration or regular washdowns.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
