Overview
The Lumitec Caprera3 is a bracket-mount LED flood/spreader light built for 10-30 VDC systems, with 12W draw and 1,200+ lumens in white output. It throws a wide flood pattern for lighting up the deck, cockpit, and working areas, and the white mode runs at 5000K (CRI 70+).
The housing is die-cast aluminum with a heat-tempered glass lens, and the assembly is sealed to IP67 for spray, rain, and routine washdowns. Physical size is compact (3.79in wide, 1.10in high, 2.49in deep), which helps when mounting under a spreader, hardtop edge, arch, or tower where clearance is tight.
Key features
- 10-30 VDC input for both 12V and 24V onboard systems
- Rated 12W; draws up to 1.0A at 12VDC (0.5A at 24VDC) per light
- 1,200+ lumens in white mode; 5000K white output with CRI 70+
- IP67 sealed for wet marine environments and washdowns
- Die-cast aluminum housing with a heat-tempered glass lens
- Bracket mount uses a 1/4-20 stainless bolt for aiming and secure attachment
- Simple two-wire hookup; compatible versions use timed on/off toggles from a standard power switch for dimming and color control
- Operating temperature range: -31F to 131F (-35C to 55C)
Variants
This light is offered with black or white housing and multiple light outputs, so you can match the look of the install and how you want the light to behave at night.
Across the range you will see full-color RGBW, white with dimming, white non-dimming, and dual-color white/blue or white/red with dimming. Control and integration features vary by configuration, which affects how the light responds from a simple on/off switch and whether it can be tied into a digital lighting controller.
Installation and setup
Wiring is straightforward: connect the red lead to a protected +12VDC or +24VDC feed and the black lead to negative/ground. Use an appropriately sized fuse or circuit breaker for the circuit, and plan your wire routing so it is supported and protected from chafe where it passes through a hardtop, mast, or arch.
White-only non-dimming versions turn on at full output when powered. Dimming and multi-color versions use timed power toggles to access dimmed states and color modes. On white-only dimming models, the light ramps up at startup; a brief off/on toggle during that ramp sets a lower level. On white/blue and white/red models, toggling can also step between the two colors and their dimmed modes. On RGBW versions, a quick off/on toggle from white mode starts the full-color cycle, and another quick toggle locks the selected color.
Compatibility and fit
The Caprera3 runs on 10-30 VDC and is suited to both 12V and 24V boats without a separate regulator. Its flood beam is meant to cover working areas rather than reach distance, with an approximate spread of 85.2 degrees horizontally and 44.6 degrees vertically.
For spreader installations, mount the bracket so the light can be aimed down and outboard without shining directly into the cockpit. For hardtops and arches, a slightly outward angle helps reduce glare off rails and hardware while still lighting the deck edge and swim platform area.
Use on board
This is a good match for owners who want bright task lighting for docking, rig checks, and deck work, with the option to add red, blue, or RGBW lighting in configurations that support it for lower-impact night operation.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
