Overview
The Blue Sea Systems ANL Fuse Block with Insulating Cover is a covered fuse holder for high-current DC circuits using ANL fuses in marine electrical systems. It supports systems up to 32V DC and is offered in two amperage ranges, making it suitable for battery feeds, inverter circuits, windlass wiring, bow thruster feeds, and other heavy-load circuits where proper overcurrent protection is critical.
The insulating cover helps meet ABYC and USCG insulation requirements, while cover breakouts allow cable entry from different directions for cleaner routing in tight battery compartments, lockers, and equipment spaces. Stainless steel studs, tin-plated copper fuse mounting blocks, and a reinforced polycarbonate base help the unit stand up to heat, vibration, and the corrosive conditions found around boats.

Variants
This ANL fuse block is offered in multiple amperage configurations for different high-current circuit sizes.
The main difference between the variants is the accepted ANL fuse amperage range. Both versions use an insulating cover, accept 5/16 inch (M8) ring terminals, and are rated for systems up to 32V DC.
- 5005: Amperage 35 to 300A. This version fits applications that need ANL fuse protection up to 300A, with a maximum cable size of 2/0 AWG.
- 5503: Amperage 35 to 750A. This version covers larger high-current circuits up to 750A and accepts cable up to 4/0 AWG.
Installation and fit
Mount the fuse block close to the power source or protected circuit location, following the vessel wiring plan and the fuse manufacturer's installation guidance. The covered layout is useful near batteries and other areas where accidental contact with live terminals needs to be reduced.
Use properly crimped M8 ring terminals, cable sized for the circuit load, and the correct ANL fuse rating for the protected conductor. The 5005 version has a maximum torque of 110 in-lb, while the 5503 version has a maximum torque of 107 in-lb.

This fuse block is a practical match for boat owners, installers, and refit projects that need covered, serviceable protection for high-amperage DC wiring. It is especially useful where large cables must be routed cleanly and where the fuse may need inspection or replacement without taking the whole connection apart.
