Overview
The Simrad 000-15942-001 is a hose and fitting kit for connecting a Simrad MKII hydraulic autopilot pump to an ORB (O-Ring Boss) steering system. It comes with three 750 mm (29.5 in) hoses in 5/16 in diameter: two high-pressure lines rated to 1500 PSI max for the main steering circuit, plus a low-pressure balance-line hose rated to 65 PSI max.
The ORB-05M fittings and pre-cut hose lengths help keep the plumbing consistent behind the helm, especially when you are working around tight bulkheads and existing steering lines. This kit is used with MKII Pumps 1 through 5 and ORB steering systems such as SeaStar.
Key features
- For Simrad MKII Pumps 1 through 5 when interfacing with ORB (O-Ring Boss) hydraulic steering systems
- Three pre-made 5/16 in hoses, 750 mm (29.5 in) long, arranged for main steering lines plus a balance line
- Two black hoses rated to 1500 PSI max for the high-pressure circuit, plus a clear hose rated to 65 PSI max for the balance line
- ORB-05M fittings with 9/16-24 UNF threads: two tee connectors and one 90 degree elbow for flexible routing
- Hydraulic fluid bottle and filter funnel included to support a clean fill and bleed
Compatibility and fit
This kit is for ORB style hydraulic steering connections. If your helm or cylinders use NPT, compression, or a different hose standard, the fittings in this kit will not match.
It is a practical fit for boats adding or servicing a Simrad hydraulic autopilot pump where you want known hose lengths to plan the pump location and keep the installation tidy.
Installation and setup
Mount the pump within reach of the supplied hoses and keep the pump and hoses below the helm when possible to reduce trapped air. The pump can be mounted horizontally or vertically, but avoid mounting it above the motor if installed vertically.
Connect the black high-pressure hoses to the outer pump ports (main steering lines) and the clear low-pressure hose to the middle port (balance line). Confirm the O-rings are seated before tightening, use the correct wrench size, and avoid thread sealant or Teflon tape on UNF or ORB hose fittings.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
