Overview
The Lumitec Barbados Courtesy Accent LED Light is a low-profile courtesy fixture with a black housing for adding light that stays low-level along steps, toe-kicks, and walkways on board.
It operates on 10 to 16V DC, which matches typical 12V battery and charging voltages, and it draws 0.55W for minimal load on the house bank. Light output varies by color, with the white version listed at 45 lumens.
With an approximate face size of 1.81 in wide by 1.28 in high and about 0.52 in of depth behind the mounting surface, it suits tight mounting spots where you want illumination without a bulky projection.
Key features
- 10 to 16V DC input for 12V onboard electrical systems
- 0.55W power draw for low current consumption on courtesy lighting circuits
- Compact footprint: about 1.81 in wide x 1.28 in high, with about 0.52 in mounting depth
- Black housing that blends into dark trim, step risers, and cockpit details
- Offered in blue, red, or white light output to match the look and function of the area
Variants
This light is offered in multiple configurations that share the same Barbados form factor and black housing.
The difference between variants is the emitted light color, which changes the look of the accent and how the area reads at night.
- 101060: Blue light color. Blue gives a cooler accent that stays subtle along cockpit edges and under-gunwale areas.
- 101061: Red light color. Red is commonly used where you want step lighting that feels less harsh on eyes at night.
- 101059: White light color. White gives the most natural visibility for stairs, companionways, and cabin walkways.
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting location so you have about 0.52 in of clearance behind the surface for the body of the light and enough room to route wiring without chafe. On open decks or areas that see frequent washdowns, seal the mounting surface and fasteners appropriately for your build.
Wire it to a switched 12V DC lighting circuit (within the 10 to 16V range) and protect the circuit with a properly sized fuse or breaker based on your wiring run and installation standards.
Compatibility and fit
This model is intended for 12V systems and is not a 24V fixture. It works well anywhere you need low-level courtesy lighting, including steps, toe-kicks, helm footrests, cockpit seating bases, and along cabin soles where glare control matters.
Use on board
It is a good match for cruising boats and fishing boats that want accent lighting that stays low-profile and does not add meaningful draw to the house bank, especially when several fixtures are used along a walkway or stairwell.
