Overview
The Attwood Marine Heavy-Duty Dry Bag is a waterproof storage bag range for keeping gear protected on boats, kayaks, canoes, and around the dock. It is available in 20 liter and 40 liter sizes, with the 20 liter version holding about 5.28 gallons and the 40 liter version holding about 10.57 gallons.
The bag uses 500 denier PVC coated mesh fabric with safety yellow coloring and black accent components, making it easier to spot on deck, in a cockpit locker, or near other safety gear. It is a practical option for clothing, towels, boat papers inside a separate pouch, small tools, electronics in their own cases, and other items that need extra protection from spray, rain, and wet decks.
Key features
- Waterproof construction helps protect contents from spray, rain, and wet storage areas on board.
- 500 denier PVC coated mesh fabric gives the bag a tougher feel than lightweight day-use sacks.
- Safety yellow color helps the bag stand out in a locker, dinghy, kayak, or cockpit.
- Multiple D-rings give attachment points for waterproof cases, dry boxes, and other small essentials.
- Soft touch integrated carry handle makes the bag easier to grab when loading gear or moving around the boat.
- 1-1/2 inch adjustable shoulder strap supports easier carrying between the dock, car, and vessel.
Variants
This dry bag is offered in two capacity configurations for different storage needs on board.
The size is the key difference between the variants. The waterproof construction, 500 denier PVC coated mesh fabric, safety yellow and black color scheme, multiple D-rings, integrated carry handle, and adjustable shoulder strap are consistent across the range.
- 11894-2: Size 40 Liter. This larger capacity suits bulkier gear such as spare clothing, towels, rain layers, or items grouped for a day on the water.
- 11897-2: Size 20 Liter. This smaller capacity is easier to stow in tight spaces and works well for personal gear, compact safety items, or essentials kept close at hand.
Use on board
This bag makes sense for boaters who want portable dry storage without adding a fixed locker or hard case. It can ride in a cockpit, under a console, inside a cuddy, in a dinghy, or in a kayak where spray and wet floors are part of the trip.
For electronics, documents, and other sensitive items, use an additional waterproof pouch or case inside the bag when extra protection is needed. As with any dry bag, the closure should be rolled and secured correctly before exposure to wet conditions.
Care and storage
After use in saltwater areas, rinse the outside with fresh water and let the bag dry before long-term storage. Keep sharp tools, hooks, and abrasive hardware from rubbing directly against the fabric so the waterproof barrier stays in good condition.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.
Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.
Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.
Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.
Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
