Overview

The Raymarine E70361 is a Micro-Talk wireless performance sailing gateway that links Raymarine Micronet wireless instruments with a wired SeaTalkng instrument network. It gives sailors a practical way to add wireless wind and other Micronet data to Raymarine displays, instruments, transducers, MFDs, and autopilots without rebuilding the whole electronics package.

The gateway is powered from SeaTalkng at 12 V DC, operates from 9 V DC to 16 V DC, and draws about 25 mA at nominal supply voltage. It supports SeaTalkng, NMEA 2000 via a DeviceNet adaptor, and Micronet wireless communication, so it fits well into mixed Raymarine installations where wired and wireless sailing data need to work together.

With IPX6 and IPX7 water resistance, a surface-mount format, and an operating temperature range from -20°C to +55°C, this unit can be placed on deck or below decks. It is especially useful on performance sailboats using wireless wind sensors, mast rotation sensing, layline data, or a cockpit display setup that depends on fast, consistent sailing information.

Key features
  • Bridges Micronet wireless instruments with Raymarine SeaTalkng wired networks for shared sailing, navigation, and instrument data.
  • Supports SeaTalkng and NMEA 2000 integration when used with a suitable DeviceNet adaptor.
  • Transfers data such as wind angle, wind speed, depth, boat speed, temperature, heading, GPS data, time, date, and navigation information.
  • 12 V DC SeaTalkng power with a 9 V DC to 16 V DC operating range and protection up to 32 V DC.
  • Low current draw of about 25 mA at nominal supply voltage, useful for sailboats with limited onboard power reserves.
  • IPX6 and IPX7 water resistance for exposed marine locations subject to spray, rain, and washdowns.
  • Surface-mount housing suits deck or below-deck installation where cable routing and network access are practical.
  • Works with Raymarine wireless wind options and can support mast rotation data when used with the matching wireless mast rotation sensor.
Installation and setup

The Micro-Talk Gateway plugs into the boat’s SeaTalkng network and is supplied with a 6 m SeaTalkng cable, which helps with placement near the network backbone or a convenient mounting point. The surface-mount design uses studs and finger nuts, with a mounting gasket to help seat the unit cleanly against the mounting surface.

For best results, the mounting location should allow dependable wireless communication with Micronet devices while still giving good access to the SeaTalkng cable run. On racing and cruising sailboats, common locations include the cockpit area, instrument pod, below-deck electronics panel, or another protected spot with clear access to the network.

Compatibility and system integration

This gateway is made for boats that use Raymarine SeaTalkng equipment and Raymarine or Tacktick Micronet wireless instruments. It allows wireless and wired data sources to appear together across compatible Raymarine instruments, MFDs, and autopilots, which is useful when adding wireless wind gear to an existing wired system.

On performance sailing installations, the gateway can help feed wind information into displays and navigation tools used for laylines and true wind calculations. When paired with the proper Raymarine wireless accessories, it can also pass mast rotation information for boats with rotating masts, including wing sailboats.

Use cases on board

This unit is a good match for sailors upgrading from a basic wired instrument network to a mixed wired and wireless setup. It also suits race boats that want to reduce cabling aloft by using wireless wind sensors while still keeping instrument, MFD, and autopilot data connected through SeaTalkng.

For cruising sailboats, the main benefit is system flexibility. A boat can keep its existing Raymarine network and add compatible wireless sensors where running new cable would be difficult, especially around the mast, cockpit, or deck hardware.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
