Overview
The Lumitec Mirage Positionable Down Light is a flush-mount LED downlight for 10-30 VDC systems that draws 6 W, produces 380 lumens, and uses an IP67 sealed housing for overhead lighting in wet boat spaces.
The head pivots up to 33.5 degrees, which helps when you want to aim light onto a bulkhead, a settee, or a work surface instead of straight down. The face is 3.50 inches in diameter, the cutout is 2.72 inches, and the body depth behind the mounting surface is about 0.97 inches, so it fits well in tight headliners and hardtops.
It is fully sealed for interior and exterior mounting, but it is not intended for permanent underwater installation. Output and control behavior depend on the light-color configuration chosen.
Key features
- 10-30 VDC input range for 12V and 24V DC systems
- 6 W draw with 380 lumen output
- IP67 sealed housing for washdowns and exposed overhead locations
- Up to 33.5 degrees of pivot to aim the beam where you need it
- 3.50 inch face diameter with a 2.72 inch cutout and about 0.97 inch mounting depth
- Spring style butterfly clip mounting to secure the light without exposed fasteners
- Polarity-sensitive DC wiring (black to negative, white or red to positive)
- Can be controlled from a standard SPST on/off switch, with dimming and color changes handled by timed off/on toggles on supported versions
Variants
This light is offered with two trim finishes (polished finish or a white bezel) and several light-color configurations.
Across the range you will see RGBW dimming, warm white dimming, white dimming, and a white dimming configuration that also includes red and blue channels that are non-dimming. Finish affects the look on the ceiling or hardtop, while the light-color option determines how the light behaves on your switch and how it fits into the rest of your onboard lighting plan.
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting location with access to the back side of the panel for wiring and the spring clips. Cut a clean 2.72 inch hole, bring the DC supply to the opening, then connect black to DC negative and the white or red lead to DC positive.
Pull the springs back, insert the body into the cutout, and let the clips clamp the light in place. Leave enough wire slack so the positionable head can pivot freely without tugging on the leads.
Electrical and control
Each light can draw up to 500 mA at 12 VDC or 250 mA at 24 VDC, so size the fuse or breaker for the total load on the circuit when multiple lights share one switch. Because the unit is polarity-sensitive, confirm positive and negative before energizing the circuit.
When using dimming or multi-color configurations, the light behavior is handled through quick off/on toggles from a standard switch. If you are mixing different Lumitec color types on one circuit, plan the switching logic so lights stay in sync during color changes.
Use on board
This is a strong fit for boats that need a low-profile downlight in a headliner, cockpit overhead, or hardtop, especially when you want to aim the beam onto a wall, table, or passageway. It also works well for refits where you want a sealed fixture with a shallow mounting depth and clean trim appearance.
Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.
Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.
To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.
