Overview
The Lumitec Caprera Cockpit Flood Light is an LED flood light that runs on 10-30V DC and uses an IP67-sealed aluminum housing for exposed mounting spots on a boat. It throws white light across the cockpit, aft deck, or spreader area so you can handle lines, steps, and gear when the sun is down.
With an approximately 7 in. front dimension and about 3 in. of depth, it fits well on hardtops, arches, and other tight locations where clearance matters. The wide input range makes it a straightforward match for both 12V and 24V systems when wired through a properly fused lighting circuit.
Key features
- 10-30V DC input for common 12V and 24V onboard electrical systems
- IP67 sealing for rain, spray, and washdowns at the mounting location
- Aluminum housing for a stable, rigid mount in vibration-prone areas
- White-light output suited to cockpit and deck task lighting
- Approx. 7 in. face with about 3 in. depth for mounting where space is limited
- Offered in two exterior product colors to match surrounding hardware and gelcoat
Variants
This light is offered in multiple exterior color configurations.
Variants differ by product color, which affects how the fixture looks on the boat when the light is off.
- 101040: Product color: White. A clean match for white gelcoat, light hardtops, and bright deck hardware.
- 101185: Product color: Black. A good visual match for dark rails, black powder-coated structures, and darker trim packages.
Compatibility and fit
Confirm you have 10-30V DC available at the mounting point and enough flat surface area for the light’s footprint. If you are replacing an older cockpit flood, measure the existing position and make sure the approximate 3 in. depth will clear headliners, backing plates, and cable runs behind the mounting surface.
Installation and setup
Plan the cable route before drilling so the wiring stays protected and does not create water paths into the structure. Use marine-grade wire sized for the run length and load, keep connections sealed, and include a fuse or breaker appropriate for the lighting circuit. A small drip loop in the wire run helps keep water from tracking toward the entry point.
Use cases on board
This style of cockpit flood light makes sense for boats that see evening dock work, night fishing setups, or early departures when you want a broad working area without relying on handheld lights. It is a solid fit for cruisers and sportfishing boats that mount lights on hardtops, arches, or under overhangs where spray and washdowns are normal.
Maintenance and care
Rinse with fresh water after salt exposure and clean with mild soap to keep the lens and housing looking good. Periodically check fasteners, sealant around penetrations, and wire strain relief, especially if the light is mounted on a hardtop or arch that sees frequent vibration.
