Overview
The Lumitec Caprera2 is a bracket-mount LED flood and spreader light for 10-30 VDC systems, with 1,000 lumens of dimmable white (5000K) plus a second dimmable color (red or blue, depending on variant). Power draw is 16W, with typical current around 1.3A at 12V DC and 600mA at 24V DC.
It is sealed to IP67 for washdowns and weather, and the powder-coated die-cast aluminum housing suits mounting where salt spray and vibration are normal. The housing measures 4.49in wide, 1.98in high, and 2.58in deep, so it fits well on a hardtop, radar arch, mast, or cockpit structure where you want the beam aimed down onto the working area.

Variants
This light is offered in multiple configurations that change the second color channel and the housing finish.
Across the range, the core specifications stay the same (10-30 VDC input, 16W draw, 1,000 lumens output, IP67 sealing, and the same overall housing size). The differences are the dual-color pairing (White/Blue or White/Red) and whether the exterior finish is Black Finish or White Finish.
- 101217: Light color White/Blue Dimming; finish Black Finish. The blue channel is a useful low-glare option around the cockpit and deck when full-white light feels too intense.
- 101218: Light color White/Red Dimming; finish Black Finish. The red channel helps maintain night vision while still giving you light where you are working.
- 101102: Light color White/Blue Dimming; finish White Finish. A white housing blends cleanly with white hardtops, arches, and mast hardware.
- 101103: Light color White/Red Dimming; finish White Finish. This configuration pairs night-friendly red output with a white housing for a lighter exterior look.
Installation and setup
Plan the mounting height and aim so the beam lands on the deck, cockpit sole, or work surface instead of shining into crew eyes. The bracket mount helps you fine-tune the angle after the light is secured, which is especially helpful on spreaders, arches, and overhead cockpit locations.
Allow some airflow around the housing. Like most compact, higher-output LEDs, it can get warm in use and performs best when it is not boxed into a tight, unventilated space.
Electrical and control notes
Wire it to a 10-30 VDC circuit and follow ABYC practices for conductor sizing, overcurrent protection, and sealed splices in wet areas. The light is polarity sensitive, so confirm positive and negative at the fixture before finalizing connections.
Dimming and the second color can be controlled through timed on/off toggles, which lets you run the light from a standard helm or panel switch. Many installations also use an external dimmer, and PLI-enabled control can be integrated into a Lumitec Poco lighting system when the boat is already set up for it.
Use on board
This style of flood and spreader light is a good match for owners who want bright white light for docking, loading gear, and washdowns, plus a second color for nights at anchor or when you want to keep glare down in the cockpit. It also fits well on sportfishing boats where red light helps keep eyes adjusted while you are rigging tackle, and on sailboats as a spreader light to fill the deck area evenly.
Maintenance and care
Rinse salt and grime off the housing and lens during routine washdowns, and check the bracket fasteners for tightness after the first few trips. If the fixture is mounted in an exposed spot, take the extra minute to inspect the wire entry and splices so water cannot wick into the wiring over time.
