Overview
The Lumitec Mirage LED Downlight is a flush-mount LED downlight for overhead lighting on boats where you want a sealed fixture that can be used inside or outside. It runs on 10-30 VDC, is IP67 rated for washdowns, and is intended for cabins, cockpits, hardtops, T-tops, and similar locations rather than permanent underwater mounting.
Installation is based around a 2.00 inch mounting hole and spring clips. Face size depends on the trim style, with glass finish versions around 2.5 inches in diameter and bezel versions around 3.25 inches in diameter. Mounting depth is about 1.11 inches behind the surface, which helps in headliners and overhead panels where clearance is limited.
Electrical load varies by output, but plan roughly 360 to 480 mA on 12V systems or 180 to 260 mA on 24V systems. White output options include 5000K cool white and 3000K warm white, and multi-color versions add modes like RGBW or preset color combinations.
Key features
- 10-30 VDC input for 12V and 24V DC systems
- IP67 rating for exterior and interior overhead mounting where spray and washdowns happen
- Flush mount with spring-clip retention; installs from the front after cutting the mounting hole
- 2.00 inch cutout; face diameter varies by trim (about 2.5 inch glass finish or about 3.25 inch with a bezel)
- About 1.11 inch mounting depth behind the panel
- Color options include White, Warm White, RGBW, and multi-color combinations such as White/Blue or White/Red
- Dimmable configurations support brightness control from a standard on/off switch sequence; non-dimmable versions stay at a fixed output
- Polarity-sensitive two-wire hookup (black negative, white or red positive)
Variants
Mirage downlights are offered in multiple configurations that vary by light color, finish, and whether dimming is enabled.
Across the range you will see light outputs such as Warm White, RGBW, White/Blue, White/Red, and multi-color sets that include Red, Blue, and Purple. Finish options include a glass finish, a polished stainless steel bezel, and a white bezel, with both dimmable and non-dimmable versions available.
Installation and wiring
Cut the mounting hole with a hole saw, bring DC power to the location, and connect the light leads to the vessel’s circuit. The fixture is polarity sensitive, so connect the black lead to negative and the white or red lead to positive.
After wiring, compress the spring clips and push the light into the cutout until it seats against the surface. When multiple downlights share a circuit, size the fuse or breaker for the combined load.
Control and dimming
Many Mirage variants can be controlled from a simple SPST switch. On multi-color versions, a quick off/on toggle cycles through available colors, and leaving the switch off for a couple seconds resets the light back to its starting mode.
On dimmable versions, the white channel ramps up when powered on; a quick off/on toggle during the ramp locks in the brightness level. Non-dimmable versions do not use this ramp and do not change brightness.
Compatibility and fit
This light family uses a 2.00 inch cutout and fits shallow overhead cavities. Confirm you have room for about 1.11 inches of depth behind the mounting surface and enough clearance around the hole for the spring clips to open.
For exterior installs, route wiring so it stays protected from chafe and water intrusion, and leave enough slack to service the fixture if the panel is removed later.
Use cases on board
These downlights work well as general overhead lighting in cabins, galleys, heads, and walkways, and they also suit hardtops and T-top overhangs where a flush face that handles spray matters.
Multi-color and RGBW versions are a good match for boats that want different lighting modes for dockside, nighttime, and task lighting from the same fixture.
