Overview

The Garmin 010-N0957-00 is a GSD 24 advanced sonar module for adding black-box 50/200 kHz fishfinder capability to compatible Garmin Marine Network chartplotters. It supports 25 to 2,000 W RMS sounder power depending on the connected transducer, with selectable transmit power levels and depth capability up to 5,000 ft in suitable conditions.

This module is made for boats that need stronger sonar performance than a basic built-in sounder can deliver, especially for fishing, bottom tracking, and reading structure below the hull. It connects to the Garmin Marine Network so sonar data can be shown on compatible networked Garmin displays instead of being limited to one screen.

The housing is fully gasketed aluminum and steel with an IPX7 water rating, and the unit accepts 10-35 V DC power for use on common 12 V and 24 V boat electrical systems. Its size is 8 in. x 11.2 in. x 3.2 in., so it is best planned as a fixed installation in a protected, ventilated electronics space.

Key features
  • Garmin GSD 24 sonar module for compatible Garmin Marine Network chartplotters.
  • Dual-frequency 50/200 kHz sonar support for traditional fishfinding and bottom detail.
  • 25 to 2,000 W RMS transmit power range, with output dependent on transducer rating and depth.
  • Maximum depth capability up to 5,000 ft, depending on transducer, water salinity, bottom type, and conditions.
  • 10-35 V DC power input works with typical 12 V and 24 V marine electrical systems.
  • IPX7-rated housing with fully gasketed aluminum and steel construction for protected marine installations.
  • Single Garmin Marine Network port shares sonar information with compatible Garmin displays on the network.
  • 7.5 A fuse rating and 40 W maximum power usage help with electrical planning during installation.
Installation and setup

The GSD 24 should be mounted where it cannot be submerged, where air can circulate around the housing, and where the status LEDs remain visible for troubleshooting. Leave enough access for the power, network, and transducer cables so the locking rings can be fitted without strain on the connectors.

Power connection is made to DC positive and ground using the supplied power cable and the required in-line fuse. The network cable connects the module to a compatible Garmin chartplotter or to a Garmin Marine Network port expander, while the transducer connects to the sounder through the transducer port.

Compatibility and fit

This sounder module is for Garmin Marine Network systems and requires a compatible transducer for operation. Transducer choice matters because transmit power, frequency behavior, mounting style, and final depth performance depend on the transducer and the installation location on the hull.

The unit has a compass-safe distance of 15.75 in., which should be considered when placing it near a steering compass or sensitive electronics. For fiberglass mounting surfaces, pilot-hole preparation and careful screw tightening help avoid gelcoat damage.

Use on board

This module is a good match for anglers and cruising boats that already use compatible Garmin displays and need a dedicated sonar source for deeper water, structure, reef edges, drop-offs, or general bottom awareness. It is especially useful when sonar needs to be shared across more than one helm or display location through the Garmin Marine Network.

Shipping
We ship worldwide from the United States. Rates are calculated at checkout based on destination and package weight. Some items include free shipping, which will show automatically. Not every product is eligible for international shipping; checkout will confirm eligibility. We do not ship to PO Boxes except through USPS, and not all packages qualify.

Processing and dispatch
Most orders are verified, packed, and handed to the carrier within 1 to 2 business days. Some products may need extra handling time or ship directly from the manufacturer. For certain international orders, inventory transfers between warehouses may add time. If any delay is expected, we will let you know the dispatch date.

Delivery and tracking
Deliveries are handled by trusted carriers such as USPS, UPS, FedEx, and DHL. Estimated arrival times appear at checkout and depend on your location and the service you choose. These are estimates and can be affected by customs or carrier disruptions. A shipping confirmation with a tracking link is emailed when your order ships, and tracking may take up to 24 hours to update. You can also view tracking in your account.

Duties, taxes, and support
International customers are responsible for any customs duties, taxes, and fees charged by the destination country. If these charges are refused and a shipment returns to us, the carrier’s return cost and any re-entry customs fees will be deducted from the refund. If your order is late or you need help, contact cs@qualityboatparts.com and we will assist you.

Quality Boat Parts is a reseller. Many items include a manufacturer’s warranty, and all warranty service is handled directly by the manufacturer. We do not manage or administer warranty claims on behalf of customers.

Warranty terms, coverage, and duration are set by each manufacturer. Issues involving defects, repairs, or replacements must be addressed with the manufacturer’s support team. When available, the warranty period is listed on the product page. If it is not shown, contact us or the manufacturer for details before purchasing.

To start a claim, the customer must contact the manufacturer and follow their process. Keep your proof of purchase and original packaging, and register the product if the manufacturer requires it, as these are often needed for warranty service.

We are happy to help you find the right contact or documentation, but we cannot decide outcomes or intervene in claim resolutions. For guidance, email cs@qualityboatparts.com.
